Fish Nolin yesterday I did pretty well, but most did not catch a keeper that I spoke with. The lake is up and has some color in places. Temp is 65.5-67.8 on the dam end of the lake, which is not the end I normally fish do not know about the Wax end did not go up past 4 pound pt. Caught one fish one surface the rest on a drop bait

    Re: Going to Nolin

I fished Nolin the last two weekends. Caught several 12-14 inch fish with the biggest catch being a 4 to 5 lb largemouth in Conoloway using a Texas rigged power worm on 4/26 in the stick ups. I also had luck with a baby brush hog. The day I caught the big fish everything I caught was by a stick up but this past weekend they were scattered. Water temp in Conoloway was in the upper 60's low 70's. Water was somewhat stained. Good luck. I'll be back out this Saturday and Sunday and will probably venture to other parts of the lake.

Ok, I have to know.....where is 4 pound point? I've heard of it before but I don't have a clue where it is. I know the lake pretty well but I guess I'm out of the loop on 4 pound point.

Nicknames For secret locations of MASSIVE fish that no one can catch, unless you are using a 20 inch yellow walking worm on a 2 ounce sinker

4 Pound Point is almost straight across from Mark's Pocket just before you get to Otter Cove (I am sorry location names has gotten to be a big joke with me and a couple of friends)

Really now: From the Dam going up toward Wax go past Ponderosa and a long sweeping turn to the right with a big mudd point on your right. At the end of the mud point look to your left 4 Pound Point is the rocky point on your left can not miss it.

Gotcha. You're talking about the rocky point where the river channel swings close to it...right?

I caught about a 2lb smallmouth off that area while nite fishing on a spinnerbait. Lifted it over the side of the boat and thought I had a walleye that fought really hard. So I guess I could call it '2 pound pont'.

    Re: Going to Nolin

yep that is correct about 4 Pound Point

JimDi consider yourself lucky if you caught a Smallie on Nolin does not happen to often, I have only caught 2 is all I have ever caught there, unless you go WAY WAY up river.

I grew up on the South Fork of the Nolin and use to catch A LOt of nice ones but that was years ago. You do not catch them like that around there now.
