    dave.....no sleep lost

im guilty of having a problem with the tourney question being answered and not moved. the reason is that i asked a question on prefishing no tourney was mentioned, just a question of how many days before a tourney should i try to prefish. if it was read i dont think it would have been moved. ive enjoyed the little bit of time ive been a member of fishin, but if i or anyone else starts to lose sleep over anything thats done on this website, fair or not, they should move on, because this isnt worth losing sleep over. this is probably the last post ill get to make, but i know ill sleep tonight. later

Okay, I have been reading this whole thing from start to finish and the question that I -myself asked was where it (the tournament) was located NOT BECAUSE IT WAS FREE!! Dave knows I live on the lake, and because of that I'm sure he understands that many on this board send me personal messages asking for insight/help, not long ago there was a johnboat question as to where they can fish with a 9.9hp and still get on good fish, I recommended the KY Dam, Big Bear, Kenlake or just marinas in general.

So in the interest of safety I asked "the" question and as so I don't point someone in the direction of a HUGE amount of boats for THEIR safety and enjoyment. I understand principle is principle but I was not inquiring about the tourney, I already knew it was going on, I'm not fishing it nor was I endorsing it nor inviting anyone to attend, I merely was asking for those who stay marina bound when they come here and ask me as to where to go - hence the last line "So I can stay clear of the area" or something to that effect.

There has been many, many post and replies to post regarding people in tourneys and their conduct, places to stay away from because of the number of boats etc. I fully agree tournament question belong in the tournament discussion board.... period. I understand your question on "prefishing" it is viable but sometime it happens, if you felt it was in error reword it and repost it, you'll get the answers you want as long as you are within the rules.

can you tell me where in my post that i broke a rule? im sure you didnt read it or you would be asking yourself the same question. this is what i asked.......HOW CLOSE TO A TOURNEY DO ANY OF YOU PREFISH, or something along those lines. the second part of the post asked how long after a fish is caught and released will it feed again? do you honestly think this belongs on the tourney board and not yours? i didnt name a tourney/time/place or club, but yours did. thats why i brought it up. i respect the fact that you were looking out for the safety of others, but yours was more of a tourney question than mine. thats about all i have to say. later

My .02 is that I WOULD have put that on the tourney board if it were up to me.

But then again, I don't understand what the big deal is. Why do people want posts on one board or another?

If I were looking for any information related to tournaments, I would want to go to the tournament board. I wouldn't want to have to search for it on a general board or search for it on some combination of the general board or tourney board.

It just really confuses me as to why people get mad that tourney info is but on a tourney board. It seems like it should make them happy.

it confuses me as to why after i was willing to let it go, you feel the need to post your opinion that i dont remember asking for. i would expect most of you to side with the moderators because thats what friends do. ive already said what i felt needed to be said, so please just let it go!

    Dude

Take a deep breath and enjoy life!.. All is Okay. Everyone has the same common interest on this site of fishing. The flowers are blooming and the fish are biting. Everyone on this site seems to communicate well and enjoy the common bond.

    All is well!!!

It's Peter's board. He makes the rules and him and Dave enforce them. Don't feel bad, I've had several posts removed by Dave over the years for violating rules....AND HE'S A FRIEND OF MINE! LOL.

Dave doesn't play favorites. He's a by the book guy. Don't take it so personal.

Well it confuses me that in the post right above mine you asked a question about whether it should be there or not so I gave my opinion. Don't ask questions if you don't want answers.

the question was for the gentleman that responded to the original post. i assume you didnt read the top 2 posts or you would have known that. or maybe you did and couldnt help sharing your thoughts, i have that problem every now and then.

    Re: dave.....no sleep lost

Here once again is the bottom line....I don't make the rules....Andrew does not make the rules. Peter owns the site and he makes the rules...we just try to moderate the boards as to his rules. Peter wants tournament posts on the tournament boards, period. Sometimes a post is put on one of the State Discussion boards that could go either way....which was probably the case in your post...we are all human and in that, some calls are subjective.

Now, as far as one rule that is easy to make the call on...it is the rule that pertains to posts that concern the administration of the boards. This rule is very clear and there is no room for interpretation....all comments about the administration of this site are to be emailed to Peter and NEVER put on the discussion boards. The reason for this rule is obvious...Peter makes the rules...he is the only one who can change the rules. Peter relies on us moderators to ensure the HIS rules are enforced. He has moderators so that he does not have to spend all his time (this site is not his primary occupation) reading posts.

So...I will say it again as I have it seems hundreds of times...read the rules, abide by the rules...and if there is an action taken by a moderator that you do not agree with or a rule that you want changed....then email PETER. He is the only person that can change a rule. If my post you referred to seems like I was frustrated....I was and am....I get tired of having to tell folks to read the rules and abide by them...especially the rule about NOT POSTING complaints about the adminstration of this site on the Discussion Boards. I don't know how much more clear I can put it.

Note: As Slop Fishin said...I and I know Andrew also try as hard as we can to be impartial about whose posts are moved, deleted etc.....this is the only fair way to moderate....I can tell you in fact, I have deleted or moved posts put up by many of my friends and also many times by my clients. To do anything else, would not be fair to the other folks on the site. I have had some of my posts deleted over the years also by other moderators when I responded in a way that was a board violation...and deservedly so, but in all these cases, I never come back and complain on the boards about any action taken like that on one of my posts. If I have a problem...I contact PETER...which is the proper way to handle the situation...he is the owner...his word is the last word...and it should not be any other way...period.
