Re: What's Your Favorite Rod You Have Ever Used?

Any rod that is made from E21, and is orange, and has nano carrot fibers and a lifetime over the counter warranty. Yes the carrot stick! I have recently added a c-rig rod from them in extra heavy fast action and OMG!!! All of my rods will be Carrot Sticks, I love the Cumaras but for the price of 2 of them you can buy 3 carrot sticks, lunch and some lures and still have a little change - and still have an awesome rod!! They too along with cumara's are ICAST winners for best in class.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned any Kistler products in this thread..........they would be my second choice.

Carrot Stix! I used one for the first time while sight fishing for pompano down in Florida a couple weeks back and WOW! On my LONG list of "wish I had."

I'm seeing more and more people using the Carrot Stix. I've heard nothing but good things about them. Is there much differece in the LTX and Gold models besides price? I have recently started using Powell rods and I'm pretty happy with them but I might have to see what all the hype is about with the Orange Stix.

Re: What's Your Favorite Rod You Have Ever Used?

Mine would have to be a 55'' True Temper steel rod I found in my dad's basement after he died. Not a piece of plastic anywhere to be found on the rod, including the guides. Cork pistol grip that was pretty much beat down to the rod blank.

I took it out to a farm pond once. Very limber, was pretty easy to work a Zara Spook. I think it dates to the 40s. At some point he apparently tried to solder a loose guide.

I have pics of Dad and some of his buddies with five- to nine-pound bass strung the length of a cane pole. I know he probably used this rod to land some of those, but I wouldn't want to have to try to boat a 9-pounder with it.

I found a pic of one just like it: http://tinyurl.com/oj2nbt

Biggest thing between the two is Carrot stix' LTX seem to run softer than stamped IMO, I bought a rod for c-rigging and got a 7'9" xtra hvy and this thing is a broom stick until I set the hook and then it bows like a champ but yet it is light as a feather. and I paired it with my curado reel and this things a beast!!! But I had to step up in line size to 17 or 20 instead of 15# but I use fluro for all my slow baits and the diameter is smaller anyway. If you get one for worming, jigging, finesse I suggest a longer 7'2" to 7'9".

My shakey head rod is my lifeline to numbers of fish but out on a ledge with a long cast in hand - my new c-rig/jig rod totes the note! Best rod on the market for the money hands down IMHO. I do like the fact if it breaks I don't have to hand someone a $50 bill to get it replaced!!!!!

I have personally never owned one, but I have fished with a friend's before. It was the Helium line - light as a feather and seemed to have a large bit of backbone to it. They say its nearly impossible to break one as well. If I weren't such an advocate of Shimano, I would probably suit all my rods to the Kistler brand.

However, I'm not familiar with their warranty procedure. I do know that the rods are fairly expensive.
