Does anyone here talking about the shortages of the DNR actually know what percentage of a fine goes to the state and what percentage goes to the county in which the violation was ticketed in? Obviously not.

$124.50 going to English court house. Called and they didn't act like they wanted it. Said I was probably not their county. I told them that their phone number was on the ticket and they said "I guess send it to us". I'll keep it if no one wants it.

You better have all that on record because if not, they'll suspend your driver license in a heartbeat. The original fine plus reinstatement fee, etc...might ended up costing you big time.

I'll admit, I have no idea. So, what is it? Also, why the sudden increase in activities?

For all of their trouble the DNR get a whole $3 training fee per ticket.

Not really true! If the state see's them as revenue producing they get to keep their job instead of getting laid off. I was LEO for 34 years!! I could write 50 citations a day average. You do the math. And yes we (the PD) only got $3 for training OR Enforcement purposes. So if we wanted new Harley's or radar or PBT's we had to produce. NO quotas, just do your job!!

A CO, even on a popular lake like Patoka, would be hard pressed to write 50 citations in a day. It is obvious why there is an increase in patrols. This time of year, with no hunting seasons in, their efforts are concentrated where the "action" is. Which would be on the water.

Unless an officer is going to write petty tickets, he would have a hard time writing 50 in a week in most counties of Indiana.
