mildew in my rodbox

Noticed some mildew on a couple of my rod handles, definately moisture in the box. Will a few charcoal briquettes cure this? Any other ideas?

I keep Arm & Hammer Baking soda in all my boat storage boxes. I figure maybe it will absorb some of the bad oders that don't belong in there either.

Stoner, I have the same problem. I sprinkled baking soda in and let it set for couple of days. I don't know if will work long term but it seems to have helped. I def. leave it open in garage most of the time now. I saw some stuff some where for carpet mildew. When I find it again I will let you know.

Who makes the boat your speaking of ?

This happened to my boat after I washed it. I pulled her out of the garage on a couple nice days in a row with all the lids up and let her dry out for a few hours at a time. I also took a shop vac to the compartments to get all the moisture I could out of the carpet.
