I was on Taylorsville last Friday about 9:00 am when I heard a shot from
across the lake and immediately heard the bullet go by me.
That was scary.![]()
I feel like a sitting duck when I hear a shot while fishing. I immediately listen for the bullet hitting or ricocheting off the water to determine whether I need to get the he** outta there.
If it was ice, you would have probably seen it floating![]()
Might have the solution.. my mom used to say it was when someone in a jet airliner flushed the commode...LOL.. so I did some research. I've found 'rumors' of some type of fluid leak from planes that would freeze and fall to the ground, but no proof.... did you see any jet contrails?
hope you caught some good fish at least!!

I should have read the whole thread, I see someone else had the same idea I purposed.
Anyway, not all Ice will float. If the ice is heavier than water, it will not float. There are four states of matter...
Solid (basically ice)
liquid
gas
plasma
So, if the matter that fell was solid, it could have been a frozen liquid that is heavier than water, or in other words more dense, causing it to sink.
Sorry... I gotta quit watching all that science channel stuff... LOL
tight lines friend,

Sometimes if a jet's lavatory valve has a leak in it, ice can form while the jet is at high altitudes. Then during descent it thaws and falls off. But that explanation is sort of boring, plus it's not so nice to think you were hit with a chunk of frozen wee-wee, so if I were you I'd call it a meteorite.
Did it look like this?

I think the fish are throwing stuff at us when our backs are turned![]()
You can see it on the west course by teebox 2 and three and on the south course but I don't remember what holes
At the state park course you can see the lake? I even brought up satellite images and couldn't possibly see how you could hit a ball into the lake form any place onthe course.
