Try the worlds fair knot, I use it with all my flouro. and it hasn't failed me yet. You can search the web and get good step by step instructions on how to tiy it. You shouldn't have any trouble though it is a breeze to tie.

I have tried Berkley vanish the flouro the brand that is yellow and turns clear in the water. I have noticed it breaks at the knot, I use a cinch knot. Is it me or the line I broke off another lure sunday even with a lure retriever.

There have been a lot of problems with vanish.I qit using it, tried several different knots and they all wouldn't hold well. Even the improved trilene knot wasn't that good.
It's the line!!!!
I have never tried vanish, I have been using berkley 100%, so far I like it.
If it's the Vanish then that stuff is known to break on hooksets. I've never fished the vanish but I have heard too many bad things to ever try it. However in your post you said it is yellow and clear under and I think that is the transoptic line. The transoptic is a monofilament line which should be pretty strong from reviews I've seen.
As far as knots go it seems everyone has an opinion on which one is best. I never really have a problem with most of the knots I have tried with fluoro but I check my line often and retie. Tests from TackleTour show that the best fluorocarbon knot (sampled from the most common fishing knots) is the improved clinch knot which has a 78% strength, followed by the palomar 72%, Uni 69%, and Trilene 67%. Having said that there are a lot of knot videos on youtube which illustrate how to tie some very strong knots that are not as common but better for fluorcarbon. Here is a good video that shows a few:

I tried the Vanish / Vanish Transition a few years ago and both failed miserably. Both broke off fish that I saw and they never should have broke with these little guys. I use Palomar knot on everything and this is the only line that I think has less strength than dental floss. It may not be your knot but the line, horrible line.
Same results for me. I had no luck with vanish - extremely poor knot strength, and a very high tendency to burn itself and make it weak.
My go to flouro has become seaguar invis-x. I have had very few problems with it. For thicker lines where I want a little more stiffness - deep water/heavy jigs I like the standard Seaguar flouro, but try the invis-x for most.
Same opinion as others Vanish is JUNK. Palimor knot for me was the worst knot for that line, it breaks every time. The only knot I could get to hold is the uni knot, but still you are better off to throw the $12-$15 in the trash and start with something else. P-Line Halo works best for me, seagar second best for me. The P-Line Halo is way better line.
