    BRL Report 11/04

I can get used to this "having a boat" thing! Hit the Barren again today for a few hours with the new boat (still handling great by the way). Went straight back to Cook Creek. Lots of boats on the water fishing primaries, but nobody was back in Cook Creek today. Had it all to myself! Hit the secondary points again, and man oh man....they were ON! The skies were overcast (around 9:00am) and the water clarity was phenomenal. Stuck with what worked yesterday, hogs. Any secondary point that I could find that had any structure at all was the ticket. Came to one section with submerged timber in about ten feet of water....JACKPOT! I let those hogs fall down in that timber and WAMO! Had about an hour there were I was hooking up on a very consistent basis. Caught one pig the went 5.6 lbs, nice fish. Caught a ton in the 2-3lb range, and some dinks. Pretty fish with fat bellies. Once that front pushed through and the blue skies showed up.....NOTHING! Bite shut right down. Oh well, had to head back to BG to get the daughter again. Great day though!

Anybody having any luck with the hybrids? I have an aching to catch some of those hard fighters! Thanks.

congradulations on the new boat Ive been wanting one but the economic crunch scared me to death, I want a new boat bad, tired of fishing out of a john boat with a 8 horse power would like to travel down a lake one day instead of sticking around docks. Hope you have many years of enjoyment from it, sounds like the fishing gets better with a new boat.

I too was once a "jonner", I know exactly how you feel! I got so frustrated only being able to fish little areas of water, knowing that there was much better fishing somewhere else. Now, I can cover serious water and establish patterns. It's so nice!

Hang in there, times will get better. You'll be out on the water in your new boat before you now it! And yes, fishing gets a LOT better with a new boat! Take care.

Definetly have them figured out in that area. Nice to be able to run over to an area and know that I will be on fish. I wonder if they are ever going to go all the way back in the creeks or if they already did and are done? I would love some shallow water crankin and buzzin! It's been a weird year though with the weather, who knows. Fun stuff though!

Once I get my fishfinder on there I will mean business! Hope to finish it up today when I get home from work.
