Hey slipped, have you ever really looked at a large company's insurance policy? Heck, have you ever tried to read your own house policy? There are more small riders, clauses, etc, that I almost think you need an attorny. My guess is that the coverage was just part of the insurance plan that the committee purchased, and they never read the fine print.

For the record, this is one republican, see you can type the entire word, that believes abortion for the sake of birth control is wrong, but that does not mean all abortion is wrong. There are certain times when I actually belive it might be the right thing... consider incest/rape, consider just plain old rape of a very young girl who has physically matured to that level, or consider if the mother's life is threatened to an unacceptable point by a pregnancy.

This is a tough subject to discuss on the internet. But just as all democrats are not evil, not all republicans are evil either.

That is not entirely correct. For instance, I am republican, and I have explained, I have a very different view. I do agree that it is a key plank in the platform that is kept there primarily for the extreme right wing religous contingent of the party. I would wager that if you were to eliminate that one "part" of the party, the issue would not be an issue at all.

That "extreme right wing religious contingent of the party" makes up about 35 to 40 percent of the GOP.

You could certainly eliminate the pro-life plank of the platform, and it wouldn't be an issue. Then again, neither would the GOP.

I am also a Pro-Lifer, proud of it and demonstrated out in front of one of Morgentaler cliinics here not that long ago. Man that felt good to do something.
