Back from some nice time at Kentucky Lake. First 2 days were 70 and partly cloudy and last 2 days misting rain and a bit colder. Water is about 61 degrees and dropping. Water color varied by bay.
We tore the small bass up on a Lucky Craft Sammy during the morning and evening eating fests the first 2 days. This pattern slowed on Monday/tuesday in cooler and wetter weather. We caught over 50 fish each day on the sammy Sat, Sun and Monday morning. Typical lenght about 10-14 inches. Very few fish above 14 inches on this pattern.
Shakey head collected a couple but not worth the effort. Same for finesse jig.
Biggest fish came mid-way back in a bay; versus far back. Had a 5 on a buzzbait before full light, had a couple of 4's on Silver/Blue lipless crank.
With the cold front yesterday, caught most fish on reaction bites using Lipless crank.
Jerkbait took a few but I think the warm weather Sat/Sun put a damper on that pattern.
Overall a great trip. Like fishing in mid-May with the temps and topwater bite.
Thanks for the report.
Thanks for report. Wish that I was heading back this weekend.
When I get there this coming Saturday afternoon, it will be the beginning of nine days of great fishing. Was there in the middle of October and caught lots of 14 inchers, with a few keepers each day. sounds like fishing has been the same lately. Weather looks pretty good thru Thanksgiving. Little cooler for our last weekend. Have a class with Dave Steward early in our trip. Should learn a lot and be able to use what we learn as the week goes on. Counting the hours!!

if they can get the water back to winter pool and stable, I think you will be in for a big time. I like the water temp about 55 for fall peak fishing. I think this will bring the bigger fish up to eat!!
