Banditman and Stoner showed up in their boats with Redneckshadrap and myself in mine. Cold with wind blowing to start the morning and the bite was overall slow for me the first couple of hours and the fish catching was slow for Billy as well. His bite was not slow but he kept LDRing fish that is Long Distance Releasing them. His first of the day was a good keeper and that pretty much set the tone for him the rest of the day. Billy hooked several that got off and at least 3 of them were keepers plus he hooked one that we never saw before it broke him off in the afternoon. Stoner had to leave a bit after lunch to go to work but we never got a final report of how he did, Banditman did catch some fish and had 1 keeper that went about 12 and change, Billy never landed a keeper but had one that was a line burner but about a 1/16th inch short, and I had 3 keepers with a 12 1/2, 13 and 15 inches. We caught several fish both Bass and Crappie, I had 4 Smallmouth including my SMALLEST ever, a monster 4 incher that hammered my FNF jig. Billy just about broke his neck trying to get the net when this monster 4 inch Smallie broke the suface jumping about 26 times as I MASTERFULLY worked him from Stearn to Bow, from Port to Starboard, around the big motor in the back, up front again and Billy jerked up the trolling motor for the SECOND time and finally after a 57 minute struggle between man and beast this BEAUTIFUL 4 in smallmouth gently made it to the net. Billy and I lost count at how many fish we did catch, just myself, I had about 18 bass plus or minus a couple and that many Crappie as well. I caught a few more than Billy but not many so my guess is around 65 fish was boated in my boat plus or minus a few. I will say it was a very frustrating day for Redneck, between letting so many fish off half way to the boat, to getting broke off by a big fish and with the wind both of us spent a lot of time in the trees ABOVE water much less the ones under the water but I do think Billy beat me in one category, he re-tied a LOT more than I did. Water temps had dropped a couple of degrees from Monday, 47 down near the dam and 45 up in the creeks, water had some stain to it but I don't know what to judge it by for it was only my 2nd day on the creek. All fish for us came on the FNF, leader depth ranged from 4 feet to 9 feet, craft hair in various colors pretty much all caught fish. Anything with white/pink and whatever was better Monday than yesterday and with Billy using different colors of his own, pretty much like the FNF, put a color within reason in front of their nose and they would hit it. Side note, we went to a Bass tourney and a Crappie catching feast broke out for a little bit. My 6 year old Fish Eating Fool that he is, was very happy to see the Crappie that I brought home. They are nicely filleted and sitting in the fridge awaiting for their bath in some nice hot oil tonight. Too bad I can't eat because they sure do look tasty.
