It will be interesting to see how this one is played out. GM is doing decent right now, it may serve them to not sling mud and just leave it alone.

How long do ya figger it will take the "Gubment Motors" and the Whitehouse to have a conflict of interest and dog Toyota out for this recall? I would think this is an example of how careful they should be when trying to be the boss and have an interest in the competition.
Could get interesting...

That's right GM can say or not say anything but what happens if the gubment takes a harder stand than usual? I know I'm reaching here but this is why they do not need to be involved in private business ownership. It's nepotistic in my eyes....at least similiar.
I like it that GM has sent out advertisments offering "X" amount of cash back to current Toyota owners if they buy a new GM vehicle...I hope GM gets some decent sales volume in return for this effort...Nothing would please me more than to see a bunch of Toyota owners come back home to America so to speak.
I know some of you probably own a "foriegn" vehicle...but hey, this is a public opinion board and this is my opinion of GM verses Toyota.
Rise UP GM!

Rise UP GM!..I appreciate products by certain manufactures regardless of who makes them. I never tried to buy anything because of who made it....it's more of what I like. So that being said...I own a Harley (best thing going arrgh arrgh) and a Chevy Truck, Mercury Outboards and a Bass Tracker Grizzly. I do drive a Toyota Highlander since it's a company supplied SUV I'll take it! LOL...
Sure my mom is Japanese but still never influenced my decisions on what I liked. It's funny my parents would always cut on eachother cause my Dad bought Chevy and Dodge and thats it. But my Mom loves Honda!
At least Toyota is taking action on the recall. I've owned another "American" company vehicle that was notorious for early transmission failure - there were two types of models - the ones where the transmission had blown and the ones that were going to shortly. Instead of recalling this faulty dangerous transmission this company would rather just break it off inside you and say "good luck finding the 3 grand to fix it".......How long do ya figger it will take the "Gubment Motors" and the Whitehouse to have a conflict of interest and dog Toyota out for this recall? There's a reason why people left "America" when vehicle shopping. I know I'll never buy another vehicle from this certain company.
I guess I'm like you, I buy what I like...it's not totally about who makes what. I just so happen to like Chevy's, Harley's...and ummm...Sony televisions! Go figure, lol...I never tried to buy anything because of who made it....it's more of what I like. They are taking care of it after several weeks of trying to deny or figure out a cheaper way. But at least now they are owning up.At least Toyota is taking action on the recall. I agree with that, cause GM has a far worse track record for recalls than Toyota, so if Toyota decided to counterattack, they would have far more opportunities to do so.
