I heard and seen that the fish are in the shallows. Jerk bait and rolling a slow spinner bait seem to be promising.

I'm heading to Cedar Creek on the 30th with some friends, we'll all be fishing from kayaks and none of us have fished it before. My game plan is to get back in the trees and fish jigs and worms just to find fish. I was wondering if anybody had any reports or patterns that are working that they wouldn't mind sharing. PM me if need be. I appreciate any help given, I'd really like to get my kayak buddies on some fish.
Thanks,Ted

Your going to have a hard time fishing Cedar Crk from kayaks.
The rudest and most inconsiderate fisherman in the USA can daily be found on CCL. They run 150 HP boats wide open down the lake and within feet of other boats.
- You will be constantly washed around
They take their boats within spitting distance to other boats constantly (never giving other fisherman space)
- You will be bothered by the other fisherman
My advice is to fish somewhere else. Maybe CCL is a great fishery but the jerks have ruined it and you'll enjoy yourself more if you fish somewhere else.
We fished Cc today. Lots of boats on the lake but saw NO rude behavior. Also saw very few fish, we caught several in the 12 to 14 inch range and had a wonderful day on the water. Others we spoke to had the same story. We were fishing the shallows with spinner baits, Rapalas and in line spinners. Gonna give it a little more time to warm up, we tried fly rods for bluegill too with 0 results.

Did you ever think these so called jerks with their 150s might think a kayak has no business on a lake & maybe they should be on a creek. It is a lake & a over fished one at that which is another reason I can't stand fishing it. They said when it was in the works that folks around here need someplace to fish & I guess from all over the country as well. lol Now what would you say if someone called you a jerk for being on Cedar Creek or any other lake for that matter in a kayak ??? Not calling you that, but just think about what you said.Buy yourself a real boat with a 250 & wash them jerks running the 150s off of the lake lol
If only had my kayak I would go to elkhorn. And I am pretty sure you can put in at the upper end of the lake. I think they have a launching spot for small boats like kayaks and its no wake.
I've fished Cedar Creek from a kayak many times. I haven't had many problems.
That being said, I will echo with others that this lake has been a big disappointment. I had high hopes for it several years ago, but I rarely go there anymore.
Tough fishing most of the time.
It's an issue of the fish having too much cover I think...
Would you tell a guy riding a bicycle to get off the road or a farmer on a tractor to not drive on a highway, being that it is in Crabb Orchard a horse and buggy not to be on the road. Lets hope not. They have the right to be on them. So does a guy with a kayak on a lake. He was not the one to state that the gentlemen who use the motors full blast are jerks anyway. It doesn't matter what lake in the world, there is no rules for not having a kayak on them. Maybe the guy wants to get out and exercise and fish at the same time. No reason a kayak should not be on the lake. I know the lakes I fish around here at home, when I see someone on a smaller boat than mine I will slow down. Thats all you have to do when you see someone on a kayak or Jon boat or canoe. Not wish they would go to a creek or river. Respect everyone out on the lake not just the buoys.Did you ever think these so called jerks with their 150s might think a kayak has no business on a lake & maybe they should be on a creek.
