Is there a "good" lake map available for Cedar Creek other that the one that is in Sportsman Connection of Kentucky Lakes? I will be fishing this lake for the first time later on this summer and would like to check it out before getting on the water.
There is one online that show some info on spawning beds, roads, under water structure. I will find it and repost.
So your one of em eh?Did you ever think these so called jerks with their 150s might think a kayak has no business on a lake & maybe they should be on a creek. It is a lake & a over fished one at that which is another reason I can't stand fishing it. They said when it was in the works that folks around here need someplace to fish & I guess from all over the country as well. lol Now what would you say if someone called you a jerk for being on Cedar Creek or any other lake for that matter in a kayak ??? Not calling you that, but just think about what you said.Buy yourself a real boat with a 250 & wash them jerks running the 150s off of the lake lol
I have a small jon boat because its all I can afford right now. If you can afford a bigger boat thats great for you. Please don't ruin my fishing time though by swamping me. You know what they say about guys with huge jacked up trucks? Well I think the same applies to boats
Everyone has a right to be on public water, no matter what kind of boat
i dont fish from a kayak mainly because i dont want to roll and lose all my equipment but a boat up on plane and trimed out makes a lot smaller wave than a boat trimed down and going slower just think about that next time one flys by. he may be doing you a favor by not slowing down. what i dont like on ccl is the idiot in the runabout going in circles for a hour.
Back to the original question...hows the fishing...I went yesterday with little luck. Although the crappie were killing it out there. They were real big, but they were hitting it hard around the cedar bottoms. Lots of panfishin right now.
I switched over to bass and it was tough. Shad were everywhere, but I couldn't get an bite. I switched over to summer fishing and threw a worm and caught an 18" so it wasn't a total lose. There are some guys that have been pullin big un's out of there, but I guess I'm not that good of a bass fisherman yet.
Go out in the kayak and have fun...nobody is gonna intentionally try to drown you. Just be careful and I hope you catch something!
Backwater Outfitters in Lexington used to have a good map of Cedar showing where the stake beds were, rock piles placed, etc.
That was about a year or two back though so maybe make a call first.
Not calling anyone an idiot or saying they have no right on the lake. Anyone has a right to fish. I used to have a big boat & now have a small one with a 70 HP Johnson. I would much rather someone come by me WOT a opposed to plowing water & bouncing me around all over the place.Plowing water is 10 times worse that someone coming by wide open. Never meant to sound like I was calling anyone a jerk or condeming them for using a kayak. I simply was saying how would he feel if someone had that mentality. If I see a kayak I will slow down, but not coming off of plane if I can keep from it.
