i dont THINK this is enough of a cold front to worry about, watch the barometric pressures though, several unstable days of barometric pressure will either move them or shut them off completely....unfortunately the next several days will be unstable, i think the end of the week is looking better though. but at the end of the day....its still fishing, and is always better than working, good luck. p.s. fishing everynight this week, if it is disastrous i will send you a note.

I'm also gonna try to make it down there Thursday night. Will be my first time night fishing for stripers and third time striper fishing period. I think I have the necessary lures and will get some shiners as well. Hoping to catch my first big striper or walleye.

I agree with Striperneut. It doesn't matter if its high pressure or low pressure with stripers as long as its consistent for a few days, at least on Cumberland anyway. You can still get em, especially this time of the year, but they are usually a little less agressive. You just have to figure they won't be moving fast/far for baits and there will be fewer bites and adjust... The great thing is you can still get into a big fish at any time regardless..

Fished main lake somewhere between Jamestown and the dam and had a great night. Not a lot of size but a LOT of fun. We fished from about 8:00 until 2:00. Had 2 keeper stripers and probably 12-15 short ones. Had four keeper walleye. Stripers were killing a walking plug before dark. After dark, went subsurface until the shad came up and then the redfin was the ticket.

Andrew, we probably passed each other and didn't know it Friday night. I got down late and didn't start until 12:30 but it was take a number anywhere near Guffey. I heard lots of flippin' and the wind was calm - never did hear any pops though. I thought for sure I'd set the world on fire but only managed one bite. I must of been comig up short with my casting. I fished until about 3:30 and had to call it before I fell asleep in the boat. Made it out Sat night from 8:30 until 10:30 and got two short fish and missed another one before the sky opened up. Actually had to grab my two girls and head for the lodge around 11:00. Tornadoes and trailers don't mix well.

That would be awesome! I'm planning on trying it out Thursday night. Probably launching at Conley, unless the reports tell me to go elsewhere. I really appreciate it!

I will be fishing out of Alligator II Marina May 13th through 16th, mostly night time fishing for Stripers and Walleyes. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Be there May 11th till 15th. Same marina. Staying at lakepoint. Red Ford truck look me up and I will let you know how we have done. Plane night fishing and pulling boards in the morning if not out real late.

Heading down tomorrow evening from Louisville. Gonna put in at the dam before dark and fish till were worn out. Hoping to catch a few, gonna try slivers, crankbaits, bucktails and shiners. What kind of areas should we target? I have fished around Indian Creek once or twice but haven't been able to striper fish in a while and don't know the lake real well. Thanks for any advice. Will report sometime when we get back.

I typically target the bluff walls this time of year. Main lake and mouths of the main creeks. Listen for the alewifes on the banks. May not be on the banks right at dark, could be a few hours after dark. Once you start hearing a lot of alewifes on the bank, the stripers will not be far behind. Gotta put that cast within 2 feet of the bank or its a wasted cast. Note that last weekend we heard very few alewifes on the banks we fished, but there were still stripers up close.

    Re: night fishing

We put in around 8 Thursday evening and fished until daylight Friday morning. Fished the Indian Creek area casting slivers, bucktails, shad raps and shiners along bluff walls. Caught one 17" striper and one 6lb walleye both on the needlefish colored sliver. Was a beautiful night to fish and heard lots of shad but few stripers feeding on them. Was our first time night fishing on Cumberland so hopefully next time we will have a better idea of what to look for and better luck. Also thanks for the help, we at least had the central idea of what to throw and what banks to look for.
