    Help

Are they any place in Southeastern KY that does fiberglass work on boats? I was loading my boat yesterday and another person was unloadin theirs and some how their boat got turned sideways and hit my boat and put a chip on the top of my boat about the size of a quarter. So now I need to find somewhere to get this fixed. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Ive called all the local body shops and none of them will even consider looking at it.. Thanks

Darby Taylor in Somerset, Burnside area is the best I have ever seen. He closed his shop a couple of years ago, and was hired full time to do repair work for Alton Blakely Watersports in Somerset. I don't know if they made it through the economic times, but I can assure you that if you find him, you'll find the best. I've seen him rebuild boats with the transom torn off, fix more than one for me that looked as good as the day I picked it up. Last one for me, had the tailgate fall down as I was carrying a load of pipe in the bed of the truck, was pulling the boat to Alabama at the time. Unfortunately, tailgate came down as I was turning into a gas station, the pipe fell, went completely through the hull above and below the rub rail, made a real mess of things considering I just picked that boat up at the Triton Factory on the way to Alabama, lol. Charged me 275 to fix it, and that was buying the flake directly from Triton. Cant beat the prices, or the service.

Don't have his phone number anymore, but maybe somebody from Somerset or Burnside knows his whereabouts.

    Re: Help

Thanks for all the replys. So actually with closer inspection it appears that only the gel coat is hurt, the fiberglass is not hurt as far as I can tell. Can you buy anything that will just fill this one spot. Im not worried about the whole color matching thing, it was made to fish in not be a show winner, lol. Thanks for all the help!
