    Deaf in the Future

Earlier today I was stopped at a Stop light and a car pulled beside me that had music (if you can call it that) so loud that the vibration was actaully rocking my car. I wonder if the young people understand what they are doing to their ears/hearing with such stuff.

Nope they dont understand which is fine with me but I don't like the gall of some of these fools who can't turn that stuff down at traffic lights. Especially when it's obscene! I would love to see a program like click it or ticket.
I know it can't happen but it's terrible. I get a few punks rolling through my subdivision rocking my windows with noise.

    Re: Deaf in the Future

"Back in the day", I drove one of those old school Chevy vans, it was a 1970, which was the last year they built them with a completely flat nosed front end. The engine compartment was located in the middle, between me and whoever was riding shot gun. Anyway...I took pride in the Pioneer Super Tuner AM/FM/Cassette with two 6" x 9" co-axials and two 6" x 9" tri-axials that I installed in it, I even went so far as to build nice boxes with insulation to place the speakers in. Led Zepplin, Pink Floyd, Van Halen and the Eagles all sounded great, and I cranked it up too! But my MUSIC never put out the loud, thumping beat I hear (and sometimes feel) when I'm near, or not so near, one of these rascals while stopped in traffic now days. Everyone can write and think what they want but I reference this sound as being the "beat of the African Drum". All I hear (and sometimes feel) when I'm near one of these rascals is...Dhoom, Dhoom, Dhoom, Dhoom....nothing else, sometimes the trunk lids rattle, you name it.

In recent past I have tried installing a sound system in my Chevy truck to "compete" with these guys, only come to find out that I need to sink MUCH MORE than $600.00 to $700.00 dollars in a stereo system if I want to be taken seriously. One of these days when the economy comes back around and money isn't as big of a concern and Nobama is out of office I might just get me one of those big bad sound systems. I think it would be pretty cool to pull up beside one of these guys and crank me up some Hank Jr or Jamey Johnson.

Speaking of Boogie Woogie, a couple years ago I was sitting in my car in the WalMart parking lot waiting for my wife. It was a hot summer day so i had the windows open and I was playing some Boogie Woogie tunes on the CD player. A young guy walked up beside the car, listened for a while, and asked "What kind of music is that?"

So far no one has mentioned any good music, just noise.

I think it is just a phase we all go through when we are young and feeling independent with a cool car or our first car. I also liked to play my music loud but not enough to disturb other people. My hearing is excellent. Its mostly guys that do it to show off. They will outgrow it before hearing is affected. Or I should say most will outgrow it.

Chub, you was listening to REAL music, not stupid idiotic, vulgar garbage, it does make a difference.

HIP HOP is NOT MUSIC, it should never be called music, it should never be referred to as music. They have NO TALENT, running your mouth at warp speed is NOT A TALENT. Being Vulgar is NOT A TALENT. Copying someone's else's Riff or beat from a song is NOT A TALENT.

Can you tell how much I like that crap, lol???

Not only is that CRAP effecting these people's hearing, but it's also effecting their rear-ends too from what I can tell. It seems to me they all have trouble keeping their pants pulled up!
