An hour's drive would give you three places with potential for Catfish :

    Herrington Lake
    Cedar Creek Lake
    Ky River

Three TOTALLY different water body types ... your choice.
All three allow night fishing .... but, you'll need to know where you have access to the water, on Herrington Lake & the Ky River (and not be trespassing). Cedar Creek access is limited only by the terrain surrounding it (land surrounding it is public) but, it does have several open areas to fish from.

At night, weekday night, usually no boats coming in and out, the marina at Tville is great. Fish right off the boat ramp. Before and after a storm, the fishing is great right there. Cats, Bass, Perch, Bluegill can all be caught at night right of the ramp. No need to put a boat in.

Van Buren is another killer spot, but don't take my spot. lol just jokin... I got some log benches and pole holder sticks set up to the left of the ramp around the bend. That spot right there is money. Catch lots of cats and hybrids on livers right there. Can catch carp there too. Use a little hook and piece of corn or liver for the carp. Set it about 1.5 ft deep with a bobber and cast it out a pretty good ways into the current.
