If anyone of you are or know of anyone attending UK this coming fall that would like to join the UK Bass Fishing Team, please have them contact me at 270-354-5039 or email [email protected] so that we can get information to them about our first mandatory meeting at the end of this month on August 28th.
I am pleased to announce that we have 9 new members already recruited to join the team this fall which will bring us up to a total of 19 members but there is always room for more.
I am also pleased to announce that we have recruited another assistant coach to assist the team. Elwood Lumpkins will be joining the coaching staff to assist the team with a focus on sponsorships as well as other functional areas. Welcome aboard the UK Team Elwood, glad to have you.
Go Cats!!
I have some eligability left and a boat!!!
How much water does Rupp Arena hold?
We have the advantage at HOME in Rupp when we fish. We make everyone use 2-man paddle boats and our guys are in EXCELLENT shape. The other teams all paddle for the closest spots to the ramp and then all the pressure they get does not help their bite. We make sure the ramp is as far away from the Erupption Zone as possible which has the best cover and structure. Our guys paddle there first and are culling within the first half our.
Roger...send me an email. [email protected]
My best guess is about 12,000 gallons, but I can't say for sure since it was frozen. I do recall that it was only about 6 inches deep because that is as far as my auger went before hitting structure. And it wasn't any deeper in the middle either . . . despite my repeated attempts to drill new holes!!! I especially remember that the Ice Capades skaters were NOT amused.![]()
Don't forget me Dave, I'm here to help the boys as needed...... I can assist in coaching as well if needed as I told ya.
Mike: Haven't forgotten you....you are on our list for volunteers to assist with getting some team members on the water...that is gonna be coming for sure once we get the new season ironed out at our upcoming meeting.
GO CARDS!
All that being said, Dave I hope you guys have great success and from what I have seen out of the high school ranks, the college ranks and the new Elite Series Rookie of the Year.......There are some outsanding tournament anglers coming up from this state. I see a day in the very near future where Ky is up there with Arkansas and Alabama when it comes to top tourney anglers.
