Thats great I'm ready to hit it again. I have had many days doing the same thing with spinners and then headed back to the campground and cooked them up. I love Kendall campground.

workjng in jamestowm decided to stay nite and pitch camp at kendal. Thinking I'd drown a nite crawler off the bank headed to river. 2,000 cfs nice little flow. Decided to use spinners instead as I don't fish bait. Caught trout after trout after trout. Nice skillet trout but no dinks also no slots. drove to two other holes same results. About 18 rainbows in about 3 hrs. All on same lure. Water cold as I had on waders with shorts and calf socks underneath. Brrr. From reaking wet from sweat all day to shivering in the water. The cumberland never ceases to amaze me.

Don, let's you, Andrew and myself plan something. Maybe one night tent pitching or something???????????? Maybe middle of the week and avoid the crowds??
Yeah I would like that. The Yaks can even be useful if they aren't generating too much.
Fish by day and drink our weight in beer at night with some good eats, what's not to love.
I have my kayak yak stored in job site trailer found these fish in the swift currents. 2,000 cfs move fairly well. Tough to get back up, river spread out and moving at gravel bars. To many days I'd drive to Jamestown only to get rained out. Loaded up poles, waders, and my kayak yak.Haven't been rained out since.
Noticed 3 guys just sitting out in middle of river in chairs. Sweltering heat they had right idea. They had their chairs anchored down as they would get up and chair would stay put. These guys had right idea I could definatly drown a nite crawler that way and down some brew. Hard for me to fish live bait with out chair and beer. I tend to not wait on fish to find me I go find them.

Thanks for the report. Also live in Jamestown area and fish the CR for trout. Good to hear the spinning gear is working for you. Much better than my fly fishing: "wooly buggers and nymbphs...!!!!. Do you mind telling us what you were throwing; roster tail, spoon, mep,...etc.
Thanks,
Boone
Yeah my last trip kinda thumped me so it felt good to catch em. Started at dam with 1/4 oz "grey minnow" rooster tail , but the long casts and shallow water didn't get along. Moved on down toward ramp went with 1/6 oz" grey minnow" and things started to pop. Fished hatchery creek then drove to ( Reowna I guess you call it) gravel bar. Should of gone there first. Super long casts if they didn't hit it the first few cranks they wouldn't hit it as the current would take it and I feel lure would lose it's action. Fast water was holding them. Thats first time since 91' I didn't have my boat. Hope it rains me out tomorrow. Thought that might of been you sitting in one of them chairs in the middle of the river. Thanks for the report. I ain't camped at Kendall since I was a kid with my parents...since then I've drove down there a lot, launched from there some, visited the visotor center they have there, etc...I was kind of wondering what kind of "camp" someone there has set up just as you enter through the campground...looks like RV's that are permanent? Looks like someone done staked claim to their "spot"....if so I guess I'm just jealous.
My understanding the people that oversee the check in hut stay there. They kinda bounce around the country doing the hut duties for a specific period of time the move on to some other camp ground. Thats what the last cople who ran the check in told me and they were there for years before they moved on. Think all reservations are on line now so money shanges hand ecept buying ice that I'm aware.I ain't camped at Kendall since I was a kid with my parents...since then I've drove down there a lot, launched from there some, visited the visotor center they have there, etc...I was kind of wondering what kind of "camp" someone there has set up just as you enter through the campground...looks like RV's that are permanent?
