Like I said in the other post, they make effort now of trying to hide their biased reporting. They have finally came to the realization that the vast majority of their viewers have very conservative views, now they are openly catering to them.

Thought this deserved it's own post since it would just get buried or written off in the "spanking" post.
Every major contender for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination who isn’t currently holding office and isn’t named Mitt Romney is now a paid contributor to Fox News.

I love to watch Fox News. I watch other stations but it's nice to get a point of view that isn't so slanted to the left like the other networks.
The Obama stations get old.....
I'm curious..... Why is Fox news so demonized by some of you guys?? It's one network. You guys have so many to watch that will lay out the news slanted in the direction you like so what gives??
Fox dominates the ratings why is that?
Yeah I am with DJD on this. I by no means say that Fox is Fair OR Balanced. But why is it that they are the "bad" guys for being one sided, when obvioulsy EVERY other news organization is biased just as much in the other direction?
I tend to get my news from multiple sources and make up my own mine instead of buying into whatever CNN or Fox is telling me. But usually I come out on the conservative end of the spectrum.
I think that the main reason it is demonized is that it is obviously completely slanted to the right - that is fine with me - I agree with you that there are plenty of liberal news sources why not have a conservative one. However, it is repeatedly brought up by conservatives that it is a non-biased, fair and balanced news source, when it is anything but that. I think that is where most of the distaste for that program comes from (at least for me).
Why does it dominate the ratings? I really think that it is so biased to the conservative group, and caters to them to such an extent that every ultra conservative in the country stays glued to it, in hopes of finding more things they hate about the current government - it is kind of fuel for thier fire. I think the hottie news girls they have don't hurt the ratings either (at least that is my favorite thing about it). I do watch it on occassion, and I don't think it is a totally bad station - I just take it for what it is - a very biased news source.
When it comes to news, not rhetoric, I don't see a whole lot of difference between Fox, CNN, or MSNBC. Each will "scoop" the others at times, or cover a story in more depth, but for the most part any story you want to read about will be on all three web sites. Where I work we have a TV on the wall tuned to one of those stations 24x7. Every couple hours, especially on weekends, they start repeating the same stories, so now and then we'll flip to another channel, and they're usually reporting pretty much the exact same news there, too. Fox spins it to the right, and the others spin it to the left. All three of them have some interesting contributors who can be worth listening to, and other contributors who are whackjobs. The only problem I have with Fox News is that they want to brag about being the only "fair and balanced" news organization, when in reality they're just as slanted to the right as other stations are to the left.
Here is a reason to watch Fox News. They don't support the Obama agenda! You won't see any of the liberal media broadcasting this information that shows who supports Obama and why. This isn't from Fox. It's from the communist Party website. Fox News just makes the viewer aware that this is out there.

"The Communist Party USA views the 2008 elections as a tremendous opportunity to defeat the policies of the right-wing Republicans and to move our country in a new progressive direction.
The record turnout in the Democratic Presidential primary races shows that millions of voters, including millions of new voters, are using this election to bring about real change. We wholeheartedly agree with them."

A Landslide Mandate For Change
A breakthrough election
Congratulations on an extraordinary history making election!
We can think back with pride to decades of hard work toward our strategic goal of a big enough, broad enough and united enough labor and all-people’s movement that could overcome the ultra-right blockage to all progress. That all people’s movement has come to life, it is dynamic and it has the potential to keep growing.
The election of Barack Obama and a strengthened Congress creates new conditions in our country. There is now the possibility to shift gears and move forward. This new day requires us to further develop our tactics in order to continue to deepen and broaden labor and people’s unity.
There are thousands of experiences that we all have had in these momentous days, some large, some small, all of which express the enormity of change in thinking and readiness for involvement that is underway and that steels us for the battles ahead.
The tears of joy we all shared as crowds gathered to watch the election results here and throughout the world dramatize the new moment we are in.

Change is Here, Change is Coming
Sam Webb, National Chair, Communist Party, USA:
Let me begin with a simple observation: If the last 30 years were an era of reaction, then the coming decade could turn into an era of reform, even radical reform. Six months into the Obama presidency, I would say without hesitation that the landscape, atmosphere, conversation, and agenda have strikingly changed compared to the previous eight years.
In this legislative session, we can envision winning a Medicare-like public option and then going further in the years ahead.
We can visualize passing tough regulatory reforms on the financial industry, which brought the economy to ruin.
We can imagine the troops coming home from Iraq and Afghanistan while U.S. representatives participate in a regional process that brings peace and stability to the entire region.
In the current political climate, the expansion of union rights becomes a real possibility.
Much the same can be said about winning a second stimulus bill, and we sure need one, given the still-rising rate, and likely long term persistence, of unemployment.
Isn’t it possible in the Obama era to create millions of green jobs in manufacturing and other sectors of the economy in tandem with an attack on global warming?
Can’t we envision taking new strides in the long journey for racial and gender equality in this new era, marked at its beginning by the election of the first African American to the presidency?
And isn’t the overhaul of the criminal justice and prison system – a system steeped in racism – no longer pie-in-the sky, but something that can be done in the foreseeable future?
All these things are within reach now!

Explain away Faux News lovers.
You've posted links from left wing web sites attacking Fox News, further proving a point. I could dig up stories of how much GE (the owners of NBC) have given the Dems in donations and publicity, but I'm too lazy.
The left hates Fox News because they no longer have a monopoly on the news. You want true proof go to PEW or another unbiased source and look at the numbers. Fact is Fox's view line up better with the majority of Americans'. That's why they are shellacking the other cable networks.
Mr. Obama and any other Dem that matters never miss a chance to take shots at Fox. Why is that? IMO they are angry the other side's message is getting out along with theirs
Is Fox critical of the Democratic leadership? Oh yeah... and rightfully so. Anyone who isn't is blind as a bat.

Good to see you posting again.
I've been good, haven't got to fish as much as I'd like but besides that I can't complain.
How have you been?
I'm not saying one news source is more balanced/better than the other, just trying to put an end to the myth that the Fox News of today is truly "Fair and Balanced".
The thing I've learned with most news being reported is that the truth usually lies somewhere in the middle and your best served to watch a few news programs and do a little digging of you own to get answers.
Now I do have some issues with what and how Fox reports every now and then. They seem to get behind some stories and run them for days/months that really aren't what they sell them as and then you get a 10 second apology or they just let it go with most viewers never getting the memo.
Also they use the words could, maybe, if........... a whole lot and that's when I change the channel.![]()
I'm okay man. Still managing to hold down a job to support the fam and my fishing habit.Good to see you posting again.

This has been one of the best fishing years ever for me. This spring was off the charts, and over the summer I've had some decent trips too. Fall is here and Dale Hollow is calling. Can't wait to get my strang stretched by a few of them nasty tempered brown girls.
