    Post Nolin 11/09/10

Got over to Nolin today....around 8am...put in @ the dam and headed to Brier Creek. Fished starting half way back, all the way to the back with a buzzbait and cbs...two hits...no fish. No activity back in the back, so I headed back out to the main lake. Fished mainlake coves on the way back to dam. Coves with bluff banks and chunk rock produced best , throwing craw cranks in 6 foot of water....caught 6 KYs...two kept, one really nice KY...around 3lbs. Water temps 58.5 in the am....62 in the pm. Water was clear on main...slightly stained up the creek, but not bad. Lots of shad back in the creeks, not much action. Off the lake @ 12pm. Beautiful day to be on the water!

Myself and a buddy are going thursday hoping to have a good day. Tired of every lake looking like a swamp with the turn over.

Rich, I thought you always went to Barren in the fall. Seems like I read quite a few reports from you going to barren. The fish were on fire there last Sunday. There was a lot of 5 fish limits weighed in at the USA Bassin Tournament.

How in the world do you get so lucky to fish Nolin this much?!?! Nolin is my "home" lake, even though I only live 40 mins from Rough and 1 hr 15mins from Nolin. Nolin is my 2nd favorite lake to fish right under Barkley.

It was my favorite lake to fish in the fall....that is until I started fishing Nolin...now its my second favorite lake to fish in the fall! LOL! I do need to get over to Barren, especially if you say it has been on fire....maybe next week. Did you hear anything about what they are hitting over there? Thanks.

I'm a cool 40 min to Nolin, I just can't pass it up! After this summer, and the "jumps".... I have been addicted to Nolin! This summer was INCREDIBLE!!! When Nolin is on...it's ON LIKE DONKEY KONG!!! Not a bad day the other day, but sounds like Barren in doing well...might have to get over there next week....also a cool 40 min driver for me! Take care.

Don't have much experience with the spillway....only fished there when they stock the trout. I did drive over it the other day when I went to fish...looks very fishable to me from above? Looked like there were some cars parked down there and a few guys fishing. I have heard the walleye fishing can be pretty good down there. Hopefully someone who fishes down there can steer you in the right direction. Take care, and good luck!

Bandit 300 series crankbaits worked the best for us. I only got one bite on a jig all day but they were hitting the crank in shad patterns really well.

I think they are dropping nolin 4-6 inches a day for winter pool right now which in turn means there sould be a lot of water comming out of the spillway.
