I jhave been keeping up with them. They talk about them and have their coach on a lot on the Cardinal Insider radio show. If you look at this decade, U of L sports has been doing a lot of good things in various activities.

I can't believe I have to be the one to post this, but did anyone else see or hear about UoL men's soccer team going to the Final Four? I wish I could have watched that match they played IN THE SNOW against UCLA; that must have been something to watch! They played with a yellow ball. For some of the UCLA players, it was the first time they'd ever seen snow in their lives! Louisville was down by 2 goals TWICE, and only took the lead at the end of the match, winning 5-4. So now they go to Santa Barbara for the Final Four, where they'll play North Carolina at 8:30 Friday night. It'll be on either ESPNU or ESPN2.

I work with a mother who has a son on the Louisville team, and this team has played their hearts out to be 19-0-3 to this point. This kind of record is hard to come by in the soccer world. My hat is off to them, and if they go on to win the NCAA, it will one great season effort. Go Cards!
North Carolina will be a tough prospect for the Cards though. NC is a soccer hotbed for both men's & women's soccer. Good luck to them!

Just had a look at the brackets, Louisville had better hope it doesn't go to a penalty shootout!
I will say this, the winner of the Championship overall will probably come from this semi-final.

Dave, I know you are a very knowledgeable fan. I am not really a soccer fan, but intend to watch the Cards. Why would it be bad if it comes down to penalty kicks?
Tim,
North Carolina has advanced through their last three rounds via the penalty kick shootout. To say they would be experienced in the tiebreaker would be an understatement!

Thanks for the info Dave. Like I said, I am not a futbol guy so I didn't know. I appreciate the help!
Good Luck to the Cards Soccer team......
Too bad it couldn't have been Indiana and U of L playing for the Championship....But IU got knocked out a couple rounds ago......But never fear, cause IU has gotten it's fair share of National Championships in soccer......
Cards beat Carolina 2-1 and on to the national title game!
Nice run, but fell short 1-0. Congrats on a great run.
Watched the game and Louisville blew a couple bunnies that could've tied/won the game for them....Akrons goalie got out of postion a few times at the end of the game Lville jus couldnt capitilize....The only thing about soccer in the US is no matter who wins, unless its the world cup, 90% of sports fans have no clue who won.....
