Two very strange stories from Arkansas. 100,000 drum in a 20 mile stretch of the Arkansas River and 1000s of black birds over a 1 mile stretch 100 miles away.
Either story alone would have been bizarre but both ocurring so close together in both time and space... it is just hard to warp your head around.
who would have guessed that many drum was even in the water in a 20 mile stretch of any river. perhaps it was too many and this is nature's way of thinning em out.
the bird story is even stranger as we have all heard of fish kills...all to often unfortunately but I have never heard of a bird killl in my 50 years walking the blue planet.

any one know what the movie was when all the birds started dropping out of the sky![]()
never mind its THE CORE mabey this was a true movie![]()
Ya, I heard that on the news today...it is rather strange. Especially considering that it was only one species of fish (drum) that were killed and only one species of bird (red winged black birds) that fell from the sky. Whatever it is that killed the drum is more than welcome to be introduced to the OH River!! I'm sure the drum population is nearly double that of the river in question in Arkansas.

THe article says sometimes those things happen? I would think that they can come up with something better than that. I would guess (i'm wrong alot lol) that if fish are dying and birds are dying then it's tied to pollution.
I know they did the tox screen but man what else could it be?
