Re: Will it be the Possum or the Tiger?

I love the Big Blue but

Pelphrey + Possum + Playing on the Road (AKA as the 3P's) = Cat Lo Mein

    Arkansas 74
    Go Big Blue 74.5

You thought I was going to pick Arkansas (who very well could win tonight) but I have not like John "Paintsville Prick" Pelphrey since he and the "Mason County Mutthead" Darren Feldhouse stood there holding hands whispering sweet nothings in each others ear on March 28, 1992 and watched Christian Laettner hit the game winning shot in the "Greatest NCAA Tournament Basketball Game of all Time". 104-103 in overtime of Caywood Ledford's final radio broadcast EVER and thanks to you, The Big Blue came out on the short end of the stick against DUKE of all teams. At least the Mutthead stood there with his hands up, sort of, and did not back off to give Laettner even more room to go up for the shot, Pelphrey. Next time, don't just let him catch turn and shoot without any defense at all, go tell Coach K BEFORE THE PLAY that you are not going to guard anyone and let Christian move all the way under the basket so he can go up for a 2 handed uncontested dunk. If both of you were going to guard him, Option A - how about one of you front him and the other play behind? Or Option B - both of you play behind and let him catch the ball uncontested and clear as day but then have the red headed kid move back about 6 feet to really give him some more room to turn and shoot. Well, Alex, I will have to take option B for $100 please. And the question is, Pelphrey and Feldhouse are MORANS!!!!!!!! NO, almost 19 years later and I am not sore in the least over this game. Getting better and I figure by 2111, when I am 143 years old I will have forgiven NOBODY and they will still be MORANS!!!!

The COACH??? (yes that MORAN) probably did say, "Boys lets not put a man on the ball and guard 5 on 4. Make sure you two, Red and Mutt, double team that Christian fella (who should have been ejected many moons earlier in the game for intentionally stepping on poor little Aminu's chest). One of you front him and the other stay between him and the basket". That I can believe.

But even HE??? is not stupid enough to say, "Boys lets not put a man on the ball and guard 5 on 4. Make sure you two, Red and Mutt, double team that Christian fella (who should have been ejected many moons earlier in the game for intentionally stepping on poor little Aminu's chest). Both of you stay behind him and make sure you let him get a clean catch on the ball. Make sure neither of you get in his way and you RED, hello I am over here RED, make sure you move back a good 6 feet or so to give him plenty of room to turn and shoot. He has not missed a shot all game from the floor or free throw line so he is due to miss this next one so give him PLENTY of room. We don't want to jeopardize his perfect shooting night in any way possible by playing any defense on him at all. I want to make sure Christian Laettner is forever remembered for THE SHOT that ended Caywood Ledford's broadcasting career on a losing note. We also want to make sure that Coach K comes over to Caywood's microphone after the game and congratulates Caywood for a wonderful career and tells all the distraught UK fans that they should be proud of their team and their effort today. After all, it is not whether we win or lose but how we play the game!!!!"

I am not hatin, all is forgotten and all have been forgiven......I think??

Arkansas hasn't beaten UK since 2001. It's hard to believe a once great program has fallen that far.

I remember when Arkansas first came into the SEC and gave UK, and the rest of the league fits with their "40 minutes of Hell". Nolan Richardson on the sideline stomping his Razorback Red Snake Skin Boots. Scotty Thurman and Corey Dillard (I think that is who it was in the mid 90's) were basically in range when they stepped off the bus and never seen a shot once they past half court that they did not like.

    Overtime...

The possum stepped off the curb and managed to dodge a Buick...now standing on the yellow line nervously eyeballing the other side...
