    Monroe water temps??

Anyone got the current Monroe water temps? I am debating on whether to go fight the flooded ice water or not this weekend.

Jerkbaits and rattletraps is all you need.

+1 on what Justin said....I would throw in jigs also. You have to try to get a reaction bite out of fish right now. They still really don't want to put much effort into eating, but if you put a rattlebait, paused jerkbait, or big black and blue jig in front of them they will eat it. Look for areas that are next to deep water.....channel banks, primary(even secondary) points, and of course you could still find them in the creek channels near bends or cover. The latter being the most difficult for me. Go to ponds when the water clears up...they warm up faster!

Jerkbaits, scroungers, shaky head, little jigs. Think about fishing these all as slow as possible. Then fish them even slower

Jerkbaits are one of the only baits I think the higher end ones are a thousand times better. I only throw lucky craft and megabass jerkbaits. With black and gold being number one in my book. Main lake points from the bank to the end no matter how deep it is. You have to cover the entire area.

thats why im quitting till its warm...lol. i totally get all that and do all that, and i get nothin!i had 5 rods on deck with youll never guess which baits! all those!lol. and fishing in exactly those spots.i never caught squat last year either until it reached 49/50 temps. and thats when all this stuff worked. well....except for the JB. i really hate those things so far.

    LMAO!
But I feel your pain - until temps get in the 50’s for me it feels like I’m practicing for warmer water and more active fish…
