I don't mind bass fishing during daylight hours in the rain if it is not chilly. Prefer a new moon (and dislike a full moon) for nighttime stripers.

Since it is spring time and the weather changes often I was wondering what people thought of best strategies to catch fish say - on a windy day or even a rainy day. I've heard that a rainy day can be good fishing. I never had much luck. If either of these conditions are present how do the fish react? I also hear people talk about the solunar calendars and how they can relate to fishing. Not really sure whether it's true or not. Any thoughts?

Yep, I pay attention to moon rise, and sunrsie times. Source I use to get it for a day is http://www.usno.navy.mil/USNO/astronomical-applications.
In the morning, I am out at Astronomical twilight so I'm fishing by Nautical twilight. Same goes for phases of the moon. I find fishing for me has been best at the rise of the moon, and on its set.
Windy days, I fish the are sheltered behind wind blown points, as the wind pushes current around the point and I find predators stacked up for whatever gets blown by. Rainy days, I have my best luck right after it stops. In general, when it stops raining, the pressure is on the rise and I have better luck fishing a rising barometer, than I do a high steady or falling barometer (rain headed in). But thats just me, and what works for me.
The best time to go fishing is when you have the time to take your kids or grandkids.
Simple as that.
