    My favorite brand for soft plastic would have to be Berkley.

    Re: What is your favorite bait?

    I use different baits, but have found you can never go wrong with a night crawler. I took my boat out a couple weekends ago. I have one pole rigged for pan fish. I have 2 lbs test line on a mini reel with a ultra light pole. Even a small blue gill will put up a good fight on it. I had a # 4 hook on it with a bobber set at 3 feet in 30 feet of water. I was using crank bait on my other pole targeting bass. The catfish was tearing that little pole up. I got 3 keepers in the boat and one big one that I could not get in the boat.

    They always have to hit the little pole!

    This is easy...

    Whatever they are biting.

    Seriously, I would probably have to say it is a tie between a jig and a crankbait.

    Cold water, winter = jig n pig, cranks
    Spring = Jerkbaits, spinnerbaits, cranks
    Summer = Topwater, plastics
    Fall = could be all the above
