{carolina jig} instead of using a carolina weight use a heavy jig. Then i cut off the gaurd and put a clip on screw retainer to the eyelet of the jig. Then screw a trailer to the jig and it will be weedless. I have caught bass on both the jig and the trailing lure. I cant remember the name of the clip on screw retainer but bass pro shops sells them.

When this was first thought of it actually was called "the Missouri rig", seriously - the use of a jig in place of a heavy sinker.

When I really need a fish, I'll eat a samich or take a leak in a gatorade bottle. WOrks everytime when fishing a jig-n-pig or a worm of some sort.
