Re: Night Time Striper at C-Land

fished 3 hours BEFORE daylight this morning and never took a solid hit (short weak bumps, not stripes) fished live bait on the same bank AFTER daylight and got 3 limits of decent fish no bigguns but solid keepers 10-12 pounds. didnt catch many small fish this morning but i know we would have if we would have had to fish longer.
the lake is an absolute lumber yard, and i mean bad !! it was a pain in the neck trying to shine a spotlight and maneuver the boat, i am worried enough about running in the daylight right now and will NOT have my boat out of the harbor before daylight again until this mess straightens up.
p.s. when the water goes down if you see a GIZZ4 and 2 slivers in the bushes ....well just keep em. dang that was alot of money

LOL My guess is you'll get a chance to get them back sometime before June. I might try to get down there and fish a little before the gale force winds blow me off. Thanks a bunch for the report. I prolly wouldn't have went if I didn't know the fish were still close to the banks. Figured they would be but you never know with these critters...

I just finished making a few Andrew knock off bucktails. This batch is much improved over the last ones. I may give it a whirl anyway. Heck, the truck is loaded...

Thumbs up Re: Night Time Striper at C-Land

We were there last week came hhome last Saturday April 9th. Lake was awesome around Caney and Wolf. It was so windy we just fished Friday with live bait and caught several keepers and a few short fish.
Leaving Tuesday for 8 more days. You have to amke it happen and be positive. A few Senoir guides went to night fishing last week. Go for it !

Re: Night Time Striper at C-Land

I'm making a few. I'm a rookie so these first few batches are the error in the trial. LOL Actually, I was mostly happy with this batch over the weekend. I did lose a spinner and I need to cure them longer. Really happy with the hair patterns and the way they run. Now all I need are some quality stripers.. LOL Hey, smallies love em..
