Good report. Thanks. They should be coming in to the shallows soon but as you found not all the crappie will be in shallow water at the same time. Many will still be out in the deep brush piles.
I just finally got my truck back and got out today a little bit to ride around and noticed that the Dogwoods are not in bloom. It's Crappie time!
It was nice and warm today and fairly calm. Now I'll be looking into fixing my water pump. I may take a chance and go out for a few more times before I get the boat into the shop and get the water pump changed out and a new one installed. But the boat repair shop is backed up for a couple of weeks. I don't want to wait that long or the crappie spawn will be over by then.
I broke the tip on my 12 ft B n M jig rod and will have to get that replaced. Hopefully B n M will send me a new tip as I paid over $40 for the rod. One of the inserts in the guides popped out and I was trying to snap it back in when the tip broke about 6" from the end of the rod. I read that BnM Will replace rod tips for their clients. I've taken very good care of this rod since I got it. In fact most of the time I don't really use it. It's just stored in the rod holder by itself in my boat. And I keep the two piece rod together with velcro strips at both ends. But the guide's eye should not be coming lose either.
