Dave will you continue to guide over the next few days barring they dont close the lakes? If so how will the levels affect your game plan?
just called and talked to someone at moors on ky lake she said no she has not heard about them closing the lakes.
I will do as I always do in this situation, I will fish what I can't see and let everyone else go into the jungles.....more fish will be along the old shoreline than move back into the jungle and easier to catch. Was doing just that today with very good success and I just expect it to get better.
Dave would you still fish the old shoreline if the the water has been up for a couple weeks and the water only had a couple feet of visibility?? Just curious.
Thanks
I did that during last year's flood with good success...basically fishing the front buck brush that is flooded over.
Dave-What about a lake that is up 14'? Would you still stay out of the "jungle"?![]()
It was up 10 ft yesterday and I stayed out of the jungle....and caught plenty of fish..does that answer your question.
I might mention also that I had a big copperhead and a cotton mouth swim up close to the boat yesterday when I did get near the jungle...they do not make good boating companions in my book....lol.

We hammered the fish 2 years ago when the make was 4 feet over summer pool in early April. Sat back and fished the original shoreline with creature baits or paralleled with cranks. Watched people back in the jungle needing chainsaws instead of trolling motors and laughed all day long. These older more mature fish know what is going on and I think they migrate back to the same area to spawn pre spawn and post spawn if you can follow the contour of the outside edge of the buck brush and just into the buck brush which will be under water your GOLDEN. Save on trolling motor props and actually catch the BIGGUNS. Wish I was there

Seems that was just what I was saying..just not in such detail...guess I taught you good...wish you were here too.
Dave
Taught me more than I could learn in about 10 lifetimes. I got maps, lake knowledge, boat, more tackle than anyone ever should have but just not the finances to make a trip. I will live vicariously thru others and their post
