    bin Laden's burial at sea

I just read more about why they buried him at sea, and how it was done. I don't think there's any question that they handled this exactly right. And I personally doubt the rumors about them offering the body to Saudi Arabia.

I have listened, read and watched alot of opinions on this now and feel that they gave this Murderer way to much respect. He didn't deserve anything more than he gave the women, children and men of all countries that he murdered. The body should have been kept, embalmed, photographed, dissected, injected, beheaded and had an autoposy.

We would have proof beyond any doubt. DNA tests could be done by anyone who wanted to have some. Why in the world do we not realize that you cannot win the hearts of folks like him and his followers?

Yeah, yeah I'm coldhearted, a redneck or whatever but he deserved no respect in my book. Anyone of the upcoming Radical Muslim leaders would be very concerned if they saw this murderer gutted like a catfish and sent to his maker without any muslim law preparations.

Seems like a lost opportunity to me.

I certainly understand the feeling, but I think you're misinterpreting the reasons for respecting Islamic traditions in this case. It wasn't done to win over the hearts and minds of his followers; it was done so as not to insult all Muslims. It wasn't out of respect for bin Laden, it was out of respect for Islam. And somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but it's always been the policy of our military to treat the bodies of our enemies that we've killed this way. It's just the moral thing to do.

The only opportunity we lost was the opportunity to hand Al Quaeda a recruitment tool.

True, time will tell if the Muslim majority respects how he was handled. I think the radical/savage/extremists will still find a problem with us killing there great leader and will seek revenge and have no regard for us trying to show respect. The guy who replaces him will be tasked with retaliation and you can bet your bippy they are planning it now.

If I have to choose between respecting Muslim feelings/opinions or Americans who lost loved ones, felt hurt by the attack or were angered and wanted his head on a platter I would have sided with the americans who want that....but that's just me. I think Obama would have sealed his fate as the next POTUS with a slam dunk if he showed the american people that I am taking the gloves off. Bin Laden was killed under my command, I'm an american not a muslim, not a muslim wanna be so I decided to get medieval on his arse. You know something along those lines...

I'm not known for being to sensitive to the radical Muslim community. Heck some view it as a fault I view it as the way people learn.

Some might, and that's why we don't do it. Dangerous job, but somebody has to be the good example.

Since when does one in the chest and one in the head qualifiy as using gloves? Remind me not to make you mad at me anytime in the future. I'm sure we could have taken him alive if we wanted to but we turned him into fish food in about a 24 hrs period.

I personally think it was the correct thing to do and it shows the World what kind of people we are. We forgive but we don't forget and all the radicals got to see Americans dancing in the streets celebrating Bin Laden's death and if they didn't I suggest we high jack the airwaves over there and put it on a 24 hr loop.

Looks like the details are falling apart on the official story. White House stated no more details would be released of raid and several packistanies are talking about what they recall.

I thought I read years ago that Bin was a diabetic.

I have to provide 48 pieces of I.D. to pick up my Insulin at the Pharmacy and have a MD write the script.

Sorry for not typing that properly. I agree with you he got it done under his command and by calling for ground troops who shot the murderer he had taken the gloves off. He could have just ordered an air strike which isn't as personal.
I just think that if he embraced that aspect of it and showed proof and did all the other stuff he could have avoided alot of confusion and placed alot of feathers in his reelection campaign hat. I still think he missed the boat on handling this. Oh well bottom line is bin laden is dead. Let's beef up security and get ready.

Somebody forgot to tell his 12-year-old daughter that he had been dead for a long time. Btw if it is all B.S., Pakistan is in on it to!
