Paul has radical to some ideas, but they make sense.Tobacco is legal, but its use is declining[wish I wanted to quit]. alocohol has been legal for over 50 years, its not being used by all,but there are problems.Legalizing cocaine and cannabis wouldn't start a drug epidemic, cocaine was legal into the early 1900s. The taxes on legal sales could boost enough revenue to take care of some of the problems.I didn't hear anything about the "gold standard" this time around, that made cents, but would have been impossible to implement.

I agree with him that pot should be legalized. The taxes off of that would be huge and they could possibly reduce the amount of money they spend trying to stop it from being grown, sold and imported.

Booze is so much more dangerous and it's legal. IMO...we have a few things out of whack with how we as a country view drugs and alcohol.

I remember when you could get a small bottle of geniune GI gin at any drug store, just sign in and thats all. Paragoric was the same way, so what happened? It wasn't the drug companys, it was the bvlue noses that said there was a danger of drug abuse, and those "God" fearing folks made them illegal, since then look whats happened. There was grass when I was in high school, never ever thought of using it.Needed to in my 40s to try a toke[yes I inhaled]

I've never viewed pot as a drug, I've just never seen it in that manner. I'm all for legalizing it as long as the quality of the product being sold is kept "high", lol, lol.... Just because it's legal doesn't mean everyone has to smoke it. Sure there will be youngsters trying to buy it but so what, they already are and have been all along for how many years now? Since way back before I was in school, that's for sure! And it ain't never going to change...heck from what I've heard today's home grown isn't the same as your fathers home grown was anyway...it's much better

Just keep some of the same rules in place that they have for alcohol, gotta be a certain age, can't drive and smoke, etc...

Yes, pot should be legalized, and regulated like alcohol. I think it would be less of a "gateway drug" if it were available at the liquor store instead of from some dude on the street.

Getting back to Mr. Cain, sure, "How's that worked out for you so far?" makes a good sound bite, and the idea of someone who's not a Washington insider is appealing, but don't you want someone who is at least in touch with current events? The guy basically came right out and said he has no idea what's going on in Afghanistan.

I want someone who can get this country back on track. I want a maverick who gets the people of this country on his side. He or she doesn't need to be an expert on foreign affairs thats what the military and specific cabinet appointments are for. Sadly, I have no faith that will happen.

Our present process of the media dictating who gets the best press sukks. The idea of someone running being perfect with no baggage sukks. This next election will be huge! If obamy even gets close to being re-elected I'm gonna cry...in my mind he is the worst thing I have ever seen. Anyone on this site could have done what he has done. He has been a puppet with an unlimited spending account and look where we are because of it.

I said it a hundred times on here and vocally to friends that BO being black and having a Democratic Congress (like he did) gives him a free ride. He took us to the cleaners, lied like a dog and pulled all his shady deals right in front of us with little to no press calling him out. He is a rock star to the liberal media, union heads and hollywood.

The GOP needs to get a well spoken black man on the ticket...hands down has too. It's the reality of politics in this day. Right now with what I know of Newt G. and Hermain Cain I hope these two end up as the GOP team. There is a ton of time to pick the actual team but I like what I see so far.

Obamy proved that you can get elected with no experience, no qualifications and a crooked background as long as your black so take that model and run with it.

Pretty much nailed it Don. Don't necessarily agree with having Newt on the ticket though.

Nothing wrong with Cain lacking foreign policy experience, or any other kind of experience long as he surrounds himself with the right people. He has said he'd do just that.

Reagan was no expert, but his ideology was sound, and he was good at picking his people. His terms are a model of how to get us back on the right track.

Mr. Obama on the other hand, has little experience, and has for the most part surrounded himself with pure-tee morons. His term, a further left version of Jimmy Carter's, is a model for how to send the country down the socialist tubes.

If you guys want four more years of Obama, go ahead and nominate Cain. The dude won't even carry his home state.
