Parking lot still under water and ramp closed! Not sure if there's any ramps open.

Went down to our camp at WAX today,it's still crazy high!! Everones docks are all torn up .I wonder if it will come down my Memorial Day??

You can bet there will be a lot of damaged lower units when boats do get back out there .THere will be lots of big logs floating just under the surface .

I heard a couple of boats running out there today but dont know where they would have launched at?

The dam is open. All other ramps are inaccessible.

Moutardier is also open...according to the corps of engineers, there will be no campgrounds open by memorial day, so I would think that the lake probably won't be at summer pool until late June.

Rumor around the lake is that the corps will take it down to around 545 (30 feet above summer pool) and stop it indefinitely until they figure out what's happening down south. Remember, all of this water ends up in the Ohio and ultimately the Miss. The rumor may not be true, but does make sense that they would pull approx 15 feet out to A) take pressure off dams and B) make room for more rains if they come and C) get water off some folks flooded houses/trailers that were built below the yellow line.

If this is the case, they'll only pull 1.3 ft a day for another 4 days or so and slow it down by end of this week and we could be looking at mid-june and possibly nearing July 4th before it gets to summer pool.

I put in at a private ramp in back of Dog Creek yesterday and re-positioned a couple of our docks....it is definitely a wierd feeling to see the lake in the shape it's in.

Yellow Line = Flood Stage (spillway)....in talking with Corps folks, they will refer to the "Yellow Line" (which, unlike the Red Line, is actually not marked) as the lowest level you are technically allowed/supposed to build on the lake. 3 different Corps reps might give you a slightly different answer as to exactly where that is on a given property (hard for anyone to know for certain without survey equipment).

I have a friend who has a property in Ponderosa for instance and he had the surveyor clearly mark 560 above sea level on his property before building an addition onto a trailer. Built the addition to within 6 inches above that spot and the water last weekend reached exactly 6 inches from his addition....pretty close.

However, many people have built well below the line and that's why they have water throughout their homes/structures right now.

Yeah built my house above the flood line. State ,feds,EPA and local govt. where all involved. Lots of red tape. Built on the Nolin river and so far so good not even a threat of flooding my home. Just never heard the term "yellow line". Thanks.
