I never said they were, but they don't use "fair and balanced" as their mantra, either. And at least they did report that some of Rupert Murdoch's other holdings, most notably the Washington Post, did cover the story extensively. And CNN even went so far as to say it might be fair to question if they (CNN) OVER-covered the story. That's a heluva lot more "fair & balanced" than Fox, who basically says, "No, that's not an 800-lb gorilla in the room."

If CNN is so much more balanced, why did they have so very little coverage on the DOJ and ATF situation with regard to Operation Fast and Furious?

Fair and Balanced!!!...Is there such a thing in today's news reporting? Please, this is a cry for help. If there is nothing out there in the middle, what about something just a "little bit left or right"?

My whole point with this thread was not to hold out CNN as some great example of fair and balanced reporting. They are just as slanted to the left as Fox is to the right. But they don't say they're fair and balanced with every other breath, either, like Fox News does. I don't have a problem with Fox being conservative; it's a good thing to have someone to balance the rest of us liberals out there. I watch them sometimes, and sometimes I even agree with some of their commentary, although I think Glenn Beck needs a straitjacket, and Ann Coulter is a psycho bitch from Hell. So if I sound like I'm saying, "Fox News isn't fair & balanced, but CNN is," that's not what I meant. I just think they need to change their slogan, that's all. Why can't they just SAY they're conservative, own it, and be proud of it? There's nothing wrong with that. Sure, we'd all like all our news to be completely objective, right down the middle, but human nature just doesn't allow that, IMHO.

Fox invites more liberals on their shows than all the other stations combined with regards to inviting the "enemy".

They say they are fair and balanced...........they are WAY MORE BALANCED than the opposition.

I just wish all the "real" news stations, and not commentary, would report the FREAKIN NEWS, and stop with the commentary. This includes FOX.

    Later,

    Geo

Re: Fox News "fair & balanced" re: Rupert Murdoch?

Although Fox does usually have a representative from both the right and the left on most their arguements...it is funny to see them try and state that they are "fair and balanced". They are definitely a republican network. Although I despise CNN & MSNBC...at least they are blatantly left-wing, liberal stations. If I turn to one either one of them, I know it is going to be a liberal talking to a liberal about liberalism. I can only stomach so much of it until I change the channel back to Fox.
