I haven't been fishing for croppie in general except for the last couple years or so... I always thought the croppie returned to the shallow waters in the fall that they used in the spring but so far this year I haven't been able to catch many in those areas... I seem to be able to catch good numbers in the summertime, a couple weeks ago the numbers dropped some but the size seemed to get better and they are still in the same areas that they were in the middle of the summer... The green river croppie thread seems to back this up as they are catching them in the channels... Is anybody catching them in the shallows or shoreline cover?

i thinks its still a little early for them to be shallow. i usually catch some while bass fishing from late oct until i quit in dec. to me they seem to be more scattered at this time than in the spring though. usually just a few by any shallow wood. if you catch a few and they stop biting off to the next piece of wood. good luck
