They haven't stocked them with the trout yet. Nor have they posted exactly when they will be stocked. I called and the only info they would give is sometime this month. If you go for the trout you have to have a separate liscense called a trout stamp. Just a heads up.

I believe you only need a trout stamp if you plan on keeping them, right? If you catch a trout and do not possess the trout stamp, you must release the fish immediately...or that was my understanding of it.

You're right, you need a trout stamp to keep trout, not to catch them. Limit is 5 on the FiNS lakes, not 8 like most other places. But they're good eating, a good pan size, and I hate to see them thrown back when they're gut-hooked, which happens, especially with live bait or corn, anything under a bobber. It's strictly a put-take stocking; it's not the natural habitat for rainbow trout, which require running water to reproduce, so it's not like they're trying to establish a population. In fact, they all die every summer. So catch and release of those trout seems pointless to me.

JimDi, Fisherman's Park is right there in J-town. There's one lake there that they stock with trout, but all of them have different kinds of sunfish in them - bluegill, goggle-eyes, that kind of thing. I like taking a cane pole around the edge of either of the bigger lakes there and just seeing what I can scare up.
