    deer liver

Anyone think this would be ok catfish bait? A buddy bagged a deer, and instead of buying chicken livers, i asked for the deer liver. I was thinking of dousing it with strawberry koolaid and catching a mess of eater channels. Any thoughts?

I tried it without any luck. My neighbor hunts and I've asked him again for another liver to give it one more try.

    Hello Captain Troll!

Never used deer liver, but I suspect it would work.

Catfish aren't picky. I have used squirrel hearts with success as well.

should work fine. Back when i used to groundhog hunt, people were always wanting their liver, and their hearts to use for catfish bait. They both eat about the same thing, corn, clover,
and acorns. I have found the hearts stay on the hook better. Tr

Liked it better than beef or chicken liver, but not enough to keep it.. Deer heart on the other hand, love it..

Heart was a bit chewy. Liked liver and onions pretty fine though.
