What????????? You mean UK didn't lose money after paying their players. I'm shocked
Heard IU was going to use that $2 to buy Cody Zeller a Big Mac and see if they can fatten him up before the season starts, boy needs some weight on that frame.
I always have wondered by some people refer to UK as the big brother...I always thought it was because as a whole, UK had more money than U of L, was a much larger school than U of L, thus had more money, etc.
I wonder what these figures here are a testimony of? Heck man...I'm pretty stupid about some of this stuff, just askin'...
Tim, these numbers are strictly profit made by each teams athletic department and have nothing to do with spending, research dollars etc. of the University as a whole.I always have wondered by some people refer to UK as the big brother...I always thought it was because as a whole, UK had more money than U of L, was a much larger school than U of L, thus had more money, etc.

What Louisville has, and the reason their athletic department is so successful and profitable is their athletic director is the best in the country.
The reason U of L is called little brother is because a seriously drunken basketball coach that was at UK called them that, and UK fans latched on to it as some type of battle cry. I guess I would rather have my team called little brother as opposed to the Blackbirds, which is what many of their racist fans called the Cards back in the late 70's and early 80's.
I'll say this for U of L...They made a smart play and got beer sales at Chicken Areana and at Pizza Stadium....
Just the total profit from all the beer sales is what put them on top of the profit margin..Take that away from the profits and UK easily beats them in the Profit total........
Just too bad that you have to get all your fans and the fans of the other teams drunk just to be able to watch lack luster games.....lol....
Just had to add that comment, too good to pass up an opening like that.....![]()
Those numbers for UL will probably drop when UK drops UL next year for Missouri. We get beat up by enough power house's one of them has to go.
Mills where do you come up with this? Lets examine your falsehoods, shall we?I'll say this for U of L...They made a smart play and got beer sales at Chicken Areana and at Pizza Stadium....

#1 Louisville has had beer sales ever since I can remember, not just when they built the new facilities.
#2 Louisville doesn't make as much as you think off of the beer sales. They allow charities and bosster clubs to work and make money for their various programs. For example, our high school football booster work a booth at each home game to make money to pay for different things for the boys.
#3 UK and U of L are much more closely alligned in things like attendance and profit margin than you want to admit and both are far ahead of IU in both.
#4 IU is so envious of the success of Louisville athletics that they tried to hire Tom Jurich in either 2000 or 2001 and he turned them down! THAT IS INDISPUTABLE FACT REPORTED IN THE INDIANA AND KENTUCKY MEDIA!
I agree, you guys need to drop us and add a cupcake, with all the young talent on the Louisville football team. Only problem Louisville will have is finding someone as bad as UK but who still have fans to buy the visitor section tickets and spend all their government check money on our beer!![]()
