    natural bridge/ mills creek lake

As many times as I've been to Red River Gorgeous I've always wanted to fish Mills Creek Lake. Have seen some huge muskies caught out of there and beeing's as I caught my first muskie while kayaking the red River figured I'd take the ol' river jon down and fish this lake. I know I have 9,000 some odd casts before I land another one, but I might as well get started. What's a good muskie bait? Anyone ever fished it? Thanks

I have caught trout, bass and bluegills, never a muskie. I have never seen anyone catch a musky out of Mills Lake. Didn't know they were in there. Use large inline spinners and buzzbaits.

Thanks have seen a fisherman with a big ol' muskie supposedly out of that lake. While at the Gorge. I did pull one out of the Red River of the gorge this summer between Sky bridge and Chimney Rock. I have fished it from he bank around the dam. This time I 'll slide a boat in.

There is some standing timber in the back of the lake. It may not be standing but there should be a ton of stumps. Caught some nice bass back there.
I too have caught muskie out of red river gorge area around tunnel bridge to upstream from there.

We've changed our game plan again. Started out as rock climbing trip, went to hiking to fishing Mills Creek Lake to now running from Red River. That's what happens when your get a bunch of guys together. Now I got to load up 3 kayaks and 2 canoes. Ought to be a nice run as the leaves are gone and you will be able to see the rock formations.

It's a beautiful little lake at that nestled in the holler. On day I'll slide a boat in down there.

A fish species doesn't have to be stocked in waters to be in there. It was around 10 or so years ago I met a man who showed me a muskie he pulled out of that lake while I was fishin the Gorge. Granted that may have been the only one in there and that's where I got the impression they were there. Glad you guys filled me in on the report. Our plans have change as we are heading down the Red River through the Gorge instead of fishing the lake. One day I will check that lake out. Thanks
