I'm sure you do get on a plane in Louisville get off the plane. You stat has nothing to do with showing UL has a bigger fan base than IU.I travel a lot with work - I never see IU anything. Probably 50% of the time I will run into a person wearing Louisville gear, especially in FL, GA, TN.
Find some official stats and please share. There is a reason Louisville has the highest revenue of any basketball program... Here are some for you to chew on. http://www.bizjournals.com/louisvill...asketball.html
What a bunch of crap! #1 in basketball revenue: Louisville. #3 in basketball attendance last year: Louisville. IU was not in the top 5 in either category. Heck Tennessee basketball had higher attendance than IU. Your argument is flawed and the only argument you have is an unscientific opinion "I see more IU flags on cars." The good thing is, there is proof that Louisville has better fan support than IU, which makes your argument VOID!You just don't get it do you Tim. Fan base is irrelevant through out the nation. You will see more support for the other two said teams than you will your Cards. Plain and simple your fan base can't hang with the likes of IU or UNC. I have no official stats to back that up as I judge with mine own eyes. Choose a state any state and your odds of seeing UL logos are slim to none. Be it a flag a tee shirt a bumper sticker whatever. I like playing the Hoosiers regardless of up or down years. You will find more support for the Hoosiers than you will your Cards outside the general area. Makes all the difference to me. IU bigger fan base through out than UL. Look it up I'm sure you'll find it somewhere.
If IU has so many more fans than U of L, how come IU is never ranked ahead of Louisville in attendance? Why do they not lead Louisville in basketball revenue? Please, enlighten me on this.
Exactly.. I already served him up with the facts. Notice his reply was garbage. What a bunch of crap! #1 in basketball revenue: Louisville. #3 in basketball attendance last year: Louisville. OK I left out the part about this being a response to thebasketball program only.... Now think hard..How many basketball Championship games has U of L been to in the last 26 years?
2 main reasons U of L has better attendance at games is simple...Their arena's hold more fans than Assembly Hall...Assembly Hall only holds barely over 17,000 fans for it's games...
Another reason, Assembly Hall doesn't sell beer to it's fans...
So of course U of L will have more in attendence and saels than IU...even I can figure that out.....
Alcohol sales is a BIG contributor to the revenue of any arena or stadium. Rupp Arena is bone freaking dry during any college sports outings.....
So lack of aclohol sales is why IU doesn't have the attendance numbers? That makes sense, I would have to drink to watch the Hoosiers play!
Hey Clyde, Since so many people are just dying to go see IU play, how come you guys haven't expanded Assembly Hall or built a new arena? I mean after all, most of the country is IU fans according to Coombro's sampling!
If U of L has more seats in the gym, then they will have higher attendence and revenue....simple really. Fan support, as you call it, or not, IU has WAY more tradition, wins, championships, and national prominence in b-ball than Louisville. People watch and buy Loiusville gear....so what...that really doesn't mean much to me. U of L has been more successful lately, and are good this year....that does matter. I can understand that you guys are worried about us getting back to where we were just a few short years ago, I would be if I was a Cardinals, Wildcat, Boilermaker, or Bulldog fan!!!!!!!What a bunch of crap! #1 in basketball revenue: Louisville. #3 in basketball attendance last year: Louisville. lroberts, the only reason this was brought up was because Cal wants to eliminate either IU, U of L or UNC from the schedule. I was making the case that Louisville should not be left off UK's schedule, but Coombro says Louisville doesn't have the fan support or the rivalry with UK that IU and UNC do. I was merely using the fan support argument to counter him, since he brought up fan support. If U of L has more seats in the gym, then they will have higher attendence and revenue....simple really. Crying Roy....Classic Crying Roy...
Once again Tim your reading things that are not there. I said the IU fan base is larger than the UL fan base. That when I am out of state I see more IU logos than UL. Please don't quote me on things I didn't say. I'll get back to you on my thoughts as to what team I has the largest fan base in the country. So lack of aclohol sales is why IU doesn't have the attendance numbers? Man you guys have a hard time reading. Did I say anything about flags on cars? I said that UK should drop UL because they only have 2 Natl. Championships. I said when I am out of state I will see more IU logos than UL. For a statistical stand point you and blocard can research it all you want yet you guys have a way of twisting it around. If your gonna us my name I have no problem yet use what I say not as what you thought I say. After building your new arena I would hope your revenue is up. IU plays in a smaller arena. Add in to it the luxury suits and alcohol you should, both of which IU does not have. Keep IU as they have 5 Natl' Championships somthing UL does not have . Can't wait to see how you two guys twist this one around. I venture to say you all a drinking your kool-aide already and it's only Dec. also.lroberts, the only reason this was brought up was because Cal wants to eliminate either IU, U of L or UNC from the schedule.
