Thanks for the info.....they should look sweet on an 1197 SI!!!!

I just read on the Humminbird web site that new Lakemaster Maps for IN/Ohio will be released this spring 2012.
If anyone has a Humminbird SI unit they should take a look at these maps. From what I have read they are much more detailed than the Navionics maps that I have now.
I have the Navionics Platinum East Map that Included Patoka Lake and was not very happy with it as it doesn't show the creek channels very well. I was expecting these maps to be much better.
Hopefully the LakeMaster maps of IN will have Patoka Lake on them and they will have surveyed the lake to get more accurate depths and contour lines that include where the actual creek channels are located.
I'd like to use the GPS and map veiw to follow along the edge of a creek channel if that's possible to do.
I like the features on the Lakemaster maps a lot more than on the Navionics Maps.
Thanks for the info.....they should look sweet on an 1197 SI!!!!
i hope they do one for ky lake
Yea me too. The Navionics digital map of KY lake is better than nothing.
If you fish KY lake a lot you should check out the KY Hydrografix Maps that are made by a guy that works for the Kentucky DNR agency.
I would think that eventually LakeMaster will map KY lake too.
I was surprised to see that IN was on the list of maps to be released in the future.
I'd like to get a good look at these maps before I buy one. I'm tired of getting screwed as these maps are not always as accurate as I want and they are very expensive. $200 for the Navionic Platinum 2010 maps on an SD chip.
Im ignorant to this , but I have a 998cSI I bought last year and I bought the Navionics map chip. Long story short I cant find the map on my unit. Help...lol. There so much to that unit I am certain I am not using half of what its capable of...
OK I'll try to help.
1. Make sure that the chip is secured in place. I noticed that my SD card was getting kicked out of the slot when I put the cover back on. The cover can hit the card and it can pop out. The card is easily removed by just pushing in on it and it will pop out of the slot. The door needs to have more clearance between the door and the card IMHO. It won't pop all the way out but it will be loose inside the unit. Push the card in and push it again to pop it out and check to see how this works. Then be very careful when you put the door back on so as not to touch the edge of the card. If you don't see the card on the menus this could be the reason. I had to reinsert the card several times before I could get the door back on and have sd card secure in the slot.
2) Using the main menu go to the very right side of the top columns and look for the column that deals with the Map Cards. To get there press the menu button twice and bring up the main menu screen. Then using the four way arrow cursor press the right arrow until you get to the far right side of the menu. I think that's where the map card menu is located. Go into this menu with the down arrow and check to make sure that everything about the card is turned on.
3. Also check the Views menu to make sure that things are all turned on.
NOTE: there may be more than one menu item that needs to be turned on to make it possible to see the map.
Also note that before you can see lake map you will have to move the pointer to where the lake map is located. Then you have to zoom in on the lake to see the contour lines.
I know that there are some nice videos on U Tube that shows you about the maps. But I've not seen them yet. I just noticed the titles.
I'm looking at some of the other U Tube videos and learning some new things about the Side Imaging units myself.

FYI, LakeMaster map cards work with all the new color combo Humminbird units, not just the SI units. Pre 2011 models check with Humminbird regarding compatibility.
