    Pay to play

What do you think about a 10% fee on all tournments going to the state to restock and maintain our fishery. If a b.A.S.S tour. can pay a $100 grand for 1st. place, they can pay to play.Instead of us tax payer`s footing the bill.Just a thought. Bullit

Since this is your first post..... Taxpayer dollars DO NOT go towards restocking or wildlife management. The liscense, tags, and permits as well as part of the sales tax (just part of the 6% KY sales tax) on outdoor item sold in Kentucky. Sorry but the taxpayers in Kentucky pay no extra taxes that go towards maintaining or restocking. Check with the KY Department of Fish and Wildlife on this.

    Thanks,

    Tim

Although we don't pay taxes toward F&W, this principle is still not bad. With the decline in hunting and fishing licenses and tags in almost all states, this could ease the burden and save money for other things. Although I don't think it should be mandatory, this country has enough laws, but as an organization that utilize the natural resources, we should want to help front the cost. But again it shouldnt be mandatory, just optional, like an option at the DMV of instead, donating to child care, an option to donate a dollar to KDFW.

This idea can never happen. You cannot treat tournament anglers differently here. These are public waterways which means its open to everyone to use in a legal manner. As long as tourney anglers fish legally you cannot in essence charge them to use the lake. Besides, every tournament I've ever fished has been catch and release and the mortality rate is extremely low, there is no need to restock lakes due to tournament anglers, period! How bout charging all you meat gatherers an extra fee for taking bass out of the lake?

To be totally fair to everyone you could charge a fee for every fish you decide to put in a livewell. That would be a tax where everyone could fish for free until you decide to keep a fish in your possesion.

I personally feel the current system is perfectly fair, a license system that allows a daily creel limit is perfectly capable of keeping fish populations where they need to be. I find this whole idea thats been brought up here "Pay to Play" absurd!

Yea no tax or anything. I would give a dollar to a donation fund ever year when I pay my car taxes though if given the option.

I'd like to see a fishing license plate. The state could add a little fee for it and we could have a nice looking license plate for our automobiles.
