I was trying to find out some info from some of you guys on here as to fishing below the dam. I need to find out the average depth here I do not want to be in to small of a boat or to big. I have a 16 foot tacker with a 25 and want to find out if my boat will be good for this location. Any tips for walleye would be much appreciated as well.
I was gonna say if you got skunked down something definitely wrong. Were the cow's laying down?I was there also, put the boat right after day light. Seen all the birds and thought to myself, this is going to be a good day with lot fish caught. I ran up to the dam and floated back down with a grub and a minnow. In no time a caught a huge Rainbow, One of the biggest I have ever caught. It looked to be about 7 lb, It was a monster of a fish. I am thinking, yep it is going to be a great day on the river. My next fish came about and hour before dark, a 10 inch Crappie. I seen very few fish caught. One boat had 2 bluegill and 2 crappie. One had 2 small rainbows. I did hear that someone bank fishing caught one Sauger. But you know what, it was still a good day on the river.
I think that the fish where stuffed with Shad. That is the only thing I could figure out. To me everything else was perfect.

Am I missing something? Are these fishing report dates correct?January and Feb. of last year.....What is happening below dam now?
This is an old post that somehow got brought back to the top. This was LAST YEAR.
Your boat would work just fine most of the time. Gotta have faith in your motor around the dam more than anything. Try bouncing spoons or blade baits for eyes.I was trying to find out some info from some of you guys on here as to fishing below the dam.
