Man it's been a long winter. LOL

I'm bored with this cold weather. It was warm last night when we had all those storms around 11 pm.

I thought it opened back up on Feb 1 st. But I could be wrong. I'm going on my old man's memory which is not every something I would trust. I'll have to double check that and find out for sure before I got out on the water.

I'm waiting for the Humminbird 898 C SI's software update right now. I check my email everyday to see if I have news from Humminbird about the software update.

I've been studying pictures of the screen shots from the SI units on a few web sites.

All last summer when it was hot my truck failed to restart after it ran for a while. I got that fixed last fall. But now the thing won't start easily when it gets below 40 deg. When it's in the 50's or above it fires up fine every time. And even when it's cold it will restart fine after it's run for a while. I'm tired of having to fix this thing every few months. In the past when a vaccume hose leaked it would cause the truck to not start so it could be something as simple as a vacume hose leak again.

Paul you remind me of my father. He loved to fish as much as you do.

Man as warm as it's been I've been thinking about getting the boat out just to go riding around the lakes. LOL

If it's warm the truck starts fine. It's only when it's cold that it takes forever to start up. I think it's a gas problem since I fixed all the other electrical stuff.

I'm wondering is the valve are not closing tight and it's a compression problem. I have a leak in the valve cover gasket and I need to get that fixed. I'll probably get the valves checked and adjusted when I do that. Maybe that will fix it. The choke is working fine. It's probably a hose that's leaking somewhere in the Air Pollution Control Devices and all those connections. The ends of the rubber hoses split and leak over time.

Yea I want to get out there. Do you know if once Bluegrass opens up for fishing on Feb. 1st hunting is disallowed there? Rabbit season doesn't close until Feb. 14th, but I know the water opens back up on the 1st. Didn't know if there was a special date for rabbit season to close on the bluegrass site. Doesn't seem real safe to me to have hunting going on with anglers possibly being close by.

Good question. I'm not sure about the answer. I'll do some research and get back to you all.

Re: Bluegrass is open this weekend

    I
I interrupt the wording below to mean that you can't hunt rabbits on Bluegrass after Jan 31st 2012 until next year. The regular rabbit hunting season is for areas that are not IDNR Fish and Wildlife Properties in the list below. So if you want to hunt rabbits around Bluegrass you would have to hunt on private ground around the lake and not on the Bluegrass Property. If Newmaster wants to hunt rabbits on his land surrounding the North section of Bluegrass Pit or he gives permission to a friend to hunt there then they could hunt rabbits up until Feb 15, 2012. But if they were to hunt on the Actual Bluegrass Property they could not hunt rabbits after Jan 31st. Does that make sense?

I found this statement below on the IDNR web site.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Rabbit
Cottontail rabbit season is from Nov. 4, 2011 to Feb. 15, 2012. Rabbits may be hunted from Oct. 1, 2011 to Jan. 31, 2012 on Atterbury, Blue Grass, Chinook, Crosley, Fairbanks Landing, Glendale, Hillenbrand, Hovey Lake, Jasper-Pulaski, Kankakee, Kingsbury, LaSalle, Minnehaha, Sugar Ridge, Splinter Ridge, Pigeon River, Tri-County, Wilbur Wright, Willow Slough and Winamac fish and wildlife areas and Brookville, Hardy, Mississinewa, Monroe, Patoka, Roush and Salamonie lakes

Thanks Greg. I forgot about the special DNR property dates. At least I can hunt there next Tuesday! Better not rain..
