Stuart Power Plant to be shut down?

I'm sure some of you know about the warm water discharge outside of Aberdeen, Ohio. I've fished this place for many years. Most years it wasn't so good and most times it's hit or miss. Thats ok with me, but what's not ok is that pressure is being put on them to shut down. The water going in the Ohio River is at times way too high. There is also the concern of contaminates being release in the water. I think these are issues that can be addressed and changed for the better, but I don't think they will get the chance. Our president said that he was going to make is so difficult for coal companies to operate that they will consider shutting down over paying steep fines. He said that our utility bills would necessarily go up. The government will shut it down.

    Don't get me started...

We have some of the cleanest coal-fired power plants in the World right here in KY...which produce some of the country's lowest energy costs. Obama and his EPA would love nothing more than for them to have to shut down, convert to Natural Gas....more expensive...would destroy the coal industry...which would subsequently cripple the economies of several regions in KY, WV, and other states.

the internet is full of news, one don't know what to believe. I read a story a while back a month or so back. that china had used up most of it's natural resources. and the USA would be exporting COAL to China and Japan. so that sounds to me like the coal mining is alive and well.

Our utility company closed a power plant in Hutsonville IL that employed 39 because of new EPA regulations. It will cost utility companies 80 billion dollars to comply with the new regulations I agree we have clean coal regulations now but this administration need to drive up the cost of fuel and energy to make green energy Competitive.

    And this really bothers you??

He is doing EXACTLY what he stated he'd do. RAISE your energy costs. In 2009 he gave an interview where he STATED that energy would necessarily go up.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HlTxG...eature=related

I guarantee you of 90% of folks actually listened to his platform, instead of just voting for him because he was black, he would have never been elected.

I GUARANTEE you that if black and poor communities ACTUALLY listened and understood the issues, they'd never vote for him. I'd like to think that folks...even destitute folks can understand that "clean" energy is going to cost 30-40-50% more than the existing energy they utilize.

I'd like to think that even though they are collecting a gubment check they UNDERSTAND that the amount in that gubment check is going to be LESS under Obama and his energy plans.

    Later,

    Geo

Two different people told me about this including one fellow who actually attended some meetings. So I didn't learn about it from the internet. I think it will be shut down. There's a lot of damage, er I mean good that our present president wants to do to, er I mean for us before the election.

Yes it bothers me and yes I knew he was going to do this it has been his plan all a long and he portrays himself as protecting the middle class and the poor and his policies hurt them the most. They need to wake up.

I agree. I have said that from day #1. He was voted in because he was black and the dems knew they had their man to take the heat for imposing the Liberal way on us. If someone doesn't like his policies they are racist. If you don't like him your racist. So the GOP ran with their head in the sand and one arm tied behind their back. The media played the race card to perfection as did the Dem leaders.
I remember very well how we all griped about this nimrod and his policies, plan, vision and warped sense of what the USA should be.
So here we are paying how much more for gas at the pumps? Insurance rate impact of obamacare won't be fully understood until he is gone or voted in for his second term.....either way it will be to late.
Are we any better off now than when he was elected??? Nope! Worse off!!
