    Re: Cats/Miss State...

I thought the arrogance/ingorance of UK was what got them down early. The team has the skill and tools to take it inside but chose to pop 17 ft jumpers and got down early. Maybe it was Cal's plan to see if the shots would fall and not fight inside with a pumped up team and chance getting his big men in foul trouble? Hard to say but it hurt to watch and I'm not a frantic UK fan but do pull for them when they are not playing Florida.

Getting Davis off the floor has been the key and been exposed before. I remember Cal in an interview saying that exact thing a few games back.

I think Davis and Teague both were rattled early when State took an early lead and the Hump was going crazy. Davis took more 18 foot jumpers last night than I had seen and Teague was playing way too fast like he was early in the season. But then Teague hit a couple of 3's and Davis got in the lane. As far as pulling Davis away from the basket, he still had a Double Double and a couple of blocks. Jones has his fair share of Blocks and with MKG clamping down on any 1-3 in the country, I still like our chances. State also showed exactly what the Cats can do against the 2-3 zone. Lamb at the point, Miller on the wing, MKG flashing to the middle with Davis/Jones roaming the baseline for the lob. Loved this lineup and you could even put Wiltjer on the other wing for Jones and have 3 shooters, flashman that can do it all and Davis.

MKG's man to man D on Bost last night really impressed me....I knew he was a hustler and a scrapper but didn't realize until last night that he could be a lock down defender like he did, and I'm not sure Cal realized it until last night either...For a 6'7 235 small forward to step up and guard one of the quicker guys in the SEC is saying somethin

I don't necessarily like'em but I'd start polishing up the trophy I just dont see anybody beating them. Too much of a talent gap.

It's still a looong shot for UK to win the title.....many things can happen like injuries and foul trouble during the games. If having talent and a winning record was all it took to win the title they wouldnt play the game.
Man it's gonna be a good march madness!

It is a two team race and everybody else is a step or two below UK and Syracuse. UK has the most talented team in the country, but in a one game situation, lots of things can happen. If this was a play off series like the NBA I would definitely pick UK.

I'm a huge cats fan but to say we should be polishing up the trophy is crazy. Too many things can happen in the tournament. It's not very often that the number one overall seed wins the tournament. However, I sure would like to. Only one way to find out......

    Re: Cats/Miss State...

Kentucky is not the same team that lost to IU. The Freshmen have played enough minutes to be classified as Sophomores by now. People talk about their inexperience, Miller has been thru an Elite 8 and Final 4. Jones and Lamb both have a Final Four under their belt. These are 3 of the 6 major players that get minutes. How many teams with a legitimate shot at the title can say half of their main contributors have Final Four experience? I don't know but I would bet none of the major teams have this experience. Add in MKG is absolute MONEY in the big games, Davis is even keel and does not get rattled by much the only weakness is Teague. If Teague can hold it together fine, if not Lamb will run the point and against a team that plays zone makes UK a better team. I still like our chances

You can take ranking and records, rpi's, neutral sites, home court and all else and throw it out the door. Fact is any team can beat any team on any given day. That's what makes sports so enjoyable. This is one cool bunch of guys who don't get rattled. They keep their nose to the grindstone and win. Their only gonna get better and with a little luck who knows?
