NEED INFO ON MY 175 MERC, ITS COMING OUT OF THE HOLE REAL SLOW BEFORE GETTING ON PLANE THEN IT RUNS FINE.THERE ARE 3 HOLES ON PROP WITH ONLY ONE PVS PLUG IN . I NOTICED SOME PROPS DONT HAVE ANY PVS HOLES.SHOULD I PLUG ALL THREE UP TO GET ON PLANE FASTER. ANY INFO WILL HELP. THANKS IN ADVANCE![]()

That is correct...vent holes in a prop creates air bubbles which in turn allows the prop to gain RPMs faster. A prop will have resistance aginst the water. Water with air bubbles does not have as much resistance therefore it spins up to max RPM faster,increasing hole shot time. To many holes in a prop and it will blow out/spin out/loose bite in the water.

My father-in-law's boat doesn't have any plugs in his prop, so it's not uncommon to pop them all out.
