Taylorsville "hump" question

I know the hump is a good place for hybrids I'm curious if it's good for catfish also. If so is it good in the spring thru early fall?

Fished the hump several times and have wore out the hybrids there with white rooster tails and top water lures. Ive only done good catfishing out there in the fall because im too busy catching crappie in the spring. but my suggestion would be to fish where the hump begins to drop off to deeper water and maybe you might pull in some cats. Ive also caught tons of drum out there with crawdads.

I'm new to that lake and have no clue where to go to catch some good eaters. We went by the ski course last year and caught a few good eaters.

Yes it is. I go to the end closes to the dam. Right where the hump starts to drop to depp water and look for 20 foot of water. I drop lines to the bottom, then up just 2-3 feet, about one- two turns on most reels. Chicken liver, live shad, nightcrawlers all work. I usually do 4 down poles set up this way, while I'm casting and messing with the hybrids.

I did pretty good on Channel Cats, fishing from the mouth of the first little pocket across from the hump (left bank, as you head towards the dam). Netted some shad & cut them in half, then fished them under a float about 6ft deep ... casting out from the pocket. I was tied off to the stickups in the pocket, and casting towards the hump/flats about 20ft outside the mouth of the pocket. This was in early Summer, though, and the catfish were in the 1-3lb size range. The shad I netted were around the 3-4" range.
I did this on more than one occasion, during the same general timeframe, so even if it don't work "now" ... it still may be a option to consider, later.
